@EwenDCameron I fully understand the disappointment. I thought Hearts did superbly almost all season. But “injustice” is taking it too far. Celtic hit form at the right time & were the better team on the day. Hearts’ form stuttered at the wrong time & they were poor on the day.
A priceless picture that will go down in #Celtic folklore. Scorer Calum Osmand & teammates Kelechi Iheanacho & James Forrest send 60,000 fans into ecstasy - & me hurtling about 3 rows in front in south stand. With tears in my eyes. Truly unforgettable. Privilege to be there.🍀
What’s it got to do with being English? The entire British fleet sailed from Scottish ports like Scapa Flow & Rosyth. 40% of them were built on the River Clyde in or near Glasgow, & thousands of Scottish sailors were involved and hundreds died.
@lorielleg I’m absolutely still in awe Lori. Easy for people to under-estimate just what that win meant to us. I was fighting back the tears in the south stand. After the Nancy debacle, we had no right to expect anything. But somehow they did it. Fairytale indeed.
What a day at #Celtic yesterday. Fantastic achievement for the team against all odds. Huge credit to Hearts who’ve been great. Disappointed in behaviour of some Celtic fans at end but some emotionally charged, inflammatory language in past week didn’t help. Can we all calm down?
@JimCosgrove8 Many teams have bad guys in their support and I could cite many examples of awful behaviour from them (including some Hearts fans on Saturday) but let’s not go down the whataboutery route. Some Celtic fans were poorly behaved on Saturday and should be punished. End of.
@The_Forty_Four Celtic are biggest club in Scotland & one of 3 or 4 biggest in UK. They’ve played in front of about 6.5 million more fans this century than their nearest rivals - 250k more each season - & their £143m turnover last year was £50m higher than same rivals. Won more leagues too.
@JimCosgrove8 The Celtic fans who were on the pitch WERE to blame and I was shouting at them to return to their seats where 95% of us remained. The febrile atmosphere in the stadium and the incendiary language used by some in recent days might have been a factor in this behaviour.
@ScotAlbayes Yes really. After Brendan Rodgers was sacked, the calamitous Wilfried Nancy period in which 12 points were lost, the discord between the board and fans, and the horrendous injury list, I did not expect Celtic to win the league and I think they did so against the odds.
@IndyIsNormal I agree Hearts have been very good. Can’t agree with your second point. Celtic FC can’t control what fans do or don’t do. And this is not croquet. What ‘pleasantaries’ do you think Hearts fans were exchanging with Celtic fans yesterday?
@IndyIsNormal I don’t know. I do know that words matter & McInnes could be more careful & diplomatic in defeat & was wrong to use the incendiary language he did last week. I think the SFA agreed when they spoke about conspiracy theories etc. Those could be factors in any misbehaviour.🤷♂️
@IndyIsNormal I was disappointed in a small % of our fans invading the pitch. I was there & I didn’t see any violence & nothing involving Celtic staff. I was also disappointed in the behaviour & incendiary language of some commentators over the past week, including the Hearts manager.
