@AndyStaples It would be an even better system for high school football tbh to stop the pissing matches over open enrollment, private schools, boarding schools etc. the concept of a single A powerhouse should not be thing but a bunch of uncle Rico’s run that sport in every state it seems.

@AriWasserman Will it matter with their schedule? No P4 non-conference and they miss the next 3 highest rated teams in the own conference per SP+. If the rest of their team is close to last year they should cruise to 11-1 or better without him.

@AriWasserman As much as my fellow SEC team fans might brag about the achievements of not their team in the conference, I can’t imagine any of them wearing a shirt like that. We argue the conference schedule is harder but no one wants to see anyone else win it all.

I want the top seeds to have easy games cus they earned that versus giving a talented TX or ND team a chance to get hot late. September and October games matter. That’s part of what makes the sport great

@AriWasserman Hot take: Ohio state is in 4 team playoff in 2024. But yeah the 12 team is mostly a second chance for elite teams and a participation trophy for pretty good. And screws teams like Indiana vs the old system where they’d only need one or two more wins.
