Every farmer has 90%-100% optional unit coverage in 2026 and it’s completely free.
It’s called ARC-IC, an alternative to ARC-CO/PLC.
You just have to know how to sign up and which farms to do it on.
Already seeing examples of payments at $100+/acre on underperforming farms.
If you don’t try it yourself you’ll never know. I started project keep the soil green on one test for 4 years. Yields spoke for themselves. Now more than ever in a drought. Every irrigated farm for sure will have something living/growing on it as long as the crop allows. Only breaks will be harvest. Wheat fits the cows and crops. Doesn’t have be complicated cover mix
@Winterquistboys@schrieferranch@MatthewCKrueger We put money into the HSA savings account that is tax free every year to “meet” the deductible. I agree it sucks. But for us it was the best option for a type of catastrophic insurance
@steffensenry25@CaryKelly11@SBakerMD I’ll send you some of our beef sticks. There is a very small amount of sugar in the spice blend and that’s it. Our jerky is the same.
@steffensenry25@CaryKelly11 This is exactly the type of story @SBakerMD talks about. I’ve battled diverticulitis throughout my life. If I stay off sugar I don’t have a problem. It feels good to feel good
I think at the stage of life you’re in things get overwhelming. I know they did for me. There’s not enough time to be a good dad, husband, farmer, and take care of yourself. And I think this overwhelming time is more about the age your kids are at than your age. I had kids earlier than you did. And my overwhelming experience was when my boys were the same age as yours.
In short it’s a very busy time of life. Keep your head above water and enjoy it. I wish I could go back to that time now. It gets easier my brother.
