Viola Davis’ book, FINDING ME. A MUST read for teachers, educators and anyone else who may need to begin to understand what some people go through just to survive. Very eye opening. @violadavis
DAY 4 #FMSD12Days@fmsdtechteam#FM21STEAM I'm the "A" in STEAM (art to K-5). Fourth graders are using 3D shapes(math) to create a 3D tree house. They are thinking like architects/engineers to create tree houses that may not be real today but might be in the near future.
DAY 3 #FMSD12Days@fmsdtechteam
The Kitchen Table Classroom is a blog that I like to get art lessons from but also other things, like Growth Mindset help. Check out her chart, The Power of Yet.

DAY 12 #FMSD12DAYS#TEAMFMES My goal for next year is to check out the iPads for a long enough time to allow the students to experience the app more in depth. What I'd REALLY like, Santa, is to have iPads in the art room on a permanent basis.
DAY 10 #FMSD12DAYS After reading, Mouse Paint, I wanted a kindergarten class to paint one mouse red, the second mouse blue then it would equal purple. What a disaster! The next class time I had them do it on a larger sheet of paper and only gave them 2 colors at a time.
DAY 11 #FMSD12Days#TEAMFMES I had a blast teaching my 5th grade about stained glass windows. Instead of using construction paper, we made them on old overhead projector sheets. Beautiful! 1st meme is using 1 of your photos. 2nd one I really like! 3rd-ours!
DAY 7 #FMSD12DAYS#TEAMFMES Our media specialist at FMES, Eileen Seren, read the book, Creepy Pair of Underwear, by Aaron Reynolds to a second grade class. After the story, the students created their own underwear with holiday themed art!!!!! Love it!
DAY 8 #FMSD12DAYS#TEAMFMES
One of our favorite iPad apps to use in art is Brushes Redux. You can draw using layers so that if you make a mistake on one layer, you are not erasing the entire picture, only that layer.
