They say you should do what you love.. and @mattwfielding and I love beer, so... we've started a thing! (because weren't busy enough alreadyπ¬π€₯)

Let us introduce ourselves π
We are Kelsey and Matt, two beer-obsessed scientists who have seized this hop-portunity to make you weiser to ale the science that gose into a brew π»
@olly_dove@scidocmartin@_michaelwheeler@LetsTalkSciComm Oh amazing! Jen's post graduate course at UniMelb during my MSc was my very first intro into SciComm (and naturally obsessed ever since - her passion is contagious). Love this meeting of worlds!
Science Made Beerable was built to help beer drinkers better get the science in their glass and now they're launching a scholarship to support the beer industry.
We chatted to the team about it came about and their desire to see more diversity in beer.

@somssichm Hey thanks Marc! Our beer tastings in Melbourne sent me off on this craft beer trajectory so I have you to partially thank for this obsession ;)
Absolutely HUGE news!! So proud of @ThatsScienceTAS and everyone who helped achieve this. Wonderful to have have the important work of volunteers appreciated in such a big way. Woohoo! #EurekaPrizes
We're excited to announce we are finalists in the prestigious @eurekaprizes for STEM Inclusion. While many of the award nominees have affiliations with major universities across Australia, TWICS is proudly independent, Tasmanian, and run by our passionate team of volunteers.
Halp. I've reached the point of my PhD where I am feeling defeated by the simplest of statistical analyses and feel v v dumb.
Anyone have a snippet of time for me to ask some quick questions (as I am supervisor-less). Thanks!
Oh the irony. Today I was told by a male professor that it will be easier for me to stay in academia, than a male due to all the "diversity hires" the Universities are advertising. Listed some hires he knows of at different Univeristies "just because they are female" Happy #IWD!
We can now plant over 700 near-single Arabidopsis seeds per plate with a modified Ender 3 (~$200) 3D printer, the AraPrinter. Next, we will combine the AraPrinter1.0 with the 3D printer-based imaging system, Imag3D, to track germination with high temporal resolution. Stay tuned.
It might be too late for us to enter @ShirtyScience (even if WE think our beer science shirts are the best).
But make sure you join the launch of Aussie's best science shirt from 6:30 tonight, hosted by @SciNate & featuring our mate @DiponSarkar10.
