#BlackMusicMonth
Regina Belle and Robert "Peabo" Bryson coming together was absolutely magical, creating a timeless classic that lives on, "A Whole New World" 🤩 Watch Peabo Bryson's feature in Regina Belle's Unsung episode during our #BlackMusicMonth marathon on Sunday at 12p/11c.
Peabo Bryson, James Ingram, Luther Vandross, Freddie Jackson etc represent a certain kind of polished 80s R&B that it feels like we’ve lost in the years since. Rest in peace to a king of the quiet storm.
Some of y’all might be too young to remember but this song had all the soap operas in a straight up chokehold in the 80s.
Can’t believe Roberta and Peabo are gone.
RIP 🕊️
I’m heartbroken to hear that we lost Peabo Bryson today. His incredible voice and his kind spirit embodied the beauty of song and performance. He was so wonderful and generous to me all those years ago, when we recorded Beauty and the Beast. He made me so comfortable, as I was just learning to sing in English. He will remain for me always as a real symbol of the joy that music has brought to my life. His voice and his talent will be missed…
My heart is with your family, and may you rest in peace, Peabo.
Love,
Celine xx…
Happy Black Music Month🤎
President Jimmy Carter officially designated June as Black Music Month on June 7, 1979, hosting a historic reception on the White House lawn with performances from Chuck Berry, Billy Eckstine, & more.
43 years ago, Michael Jackson walked on stage wearing that fedora and introduced the moonwalk to the world during his iconic Billie Jean performance.
Pure magic that still blows minds today…
Wow time flys, we look like our own children at the Toy Story 1 image. The aging Buzz and Woody currently in London telling wonderful fans all about the new Toy Story 5 coming June 19. “To infinity and beyond!”
