@Xzistence2@IAmAvionGS I mean, whether subtle displays of emotion hit or not is your opinion. I think if executed well, it can hit just as hard as large panels showcasing the characters entire face.
@Xzistence2@IAmAvionGS Not really, these panels for example are more blatant desplays of emotion. We just don't see characters balling there eyes out very often because there aren't many sad moments in the manga that warrant a reaction that strong.
@Xzistence2@IAmAvionGS There other ways of showcasing emotion aside from having it be done in large panels depicting characters balling their faces off. Ikemoto's aproach to Naruto's cry is just more subtle then the rest. That doesn't necessarily mean it's enferior.
@Xzistence2@TGSF20@gabyfloresgza@IAmAvionGS Boruto will never be lack luster incomparison, for the single fact that it's all opinionated. Boruto aims for a more simpler style with less shading/greytone than other manga. That doesn't necessarily mean it's enferior. Whether that's actually the case depends on preferance
@Xzistence2@Hamie2224@Borugoat7@IAmAvionGS I mean, there aren't many emotional moments in the manga that warrant characters crying like that, besides Boruto and Kurama's death. Ikemoto didn't deliver as much as I'd hoped when it came to Kurama's death as far as expressions went, but his other moments were good.
