Yesterday was our 33rd wedding anniversary and about the 35th anniversary of when we first met. Let me copy this your write-up and send it to her, because everything you wrote is almost word-for-word our own experience.

When we were so broke that we could only afford one meal between us, I would come back from work and she would serve me the meal. I will ask where her own food is and she will say that she has already eaten. I didn’t know that this woman had chosen to go hungry to make sure that I eat.

So, now, when they say that she is the one eating all my money, I always say: “Before nko? Were you there when we didn’t have?” 😀

Try and invest in a solid front door and solid iron burglary-proofing with the bars arranged close to each other horizontally and vertically (not pipes that can easily be prized apart). They are more likely to keep you safe than any security man.

I once had a security man who flew out of the compound when he saw a snake. I could only imagine what would have happened if it had been a man with a machete.

Make sure that you have one burglary-proofed window that can be opened in the event of an emergency, like a fire, but keep it secret from any domestic workers.

I know that the serious armed robbers will knock and ask you to come and open the door yourself (or else!) but a strong front door and good burglary proofing will improve your chances of protecting yourself, your family and your belongings.

Even if you are renting, seek your landlord’s permission to change your front door, if you can afford it, and keep their own for them for you to put back when you move out. It is often your first and sometimes last line of defence.

The wife who ignored my broke life, & chose my potentials, & stood with me for 9 years before I married her.

The wife that knows that come what may, my "Agaracha" self must come back.

The wife that is always accountable to me, financially and physically.

The wife that is not greedy, and is contented with whatever I can provide for them, & whatever she has.

The only woman that makes my face glow, and can make anyone get favours from me, just by asking me about her.
