Please don't remove students from physical education, music, Arts, or other classes to remediate them in other areas. These classes are just as important for overall education and may be their favorite classes and one reason they like school.
@JayWamsted My MEd absolutely made me a better educator. No doubt whatsoever. I think it depends on your reason for being there… Are you there to learn and improve practice? Or are you there just so you can climb the ladder? If you’re there to learn and improve, you will.
I’ve known @abdaniellesmith for a long time. We were both opposition leaders in #ableg. I debated her many times. She has ALWAYS been about privatizing health care. It’s her passion and her priority. Anyone who believes she’s changed her tune now is being played for a sucker.
In 1988 (the last time we had a new hospital in Edmonton), the population of #yeg was 808,000. It’s nearly double that now (1.54 million) and UCP indefinitely postponed the south #yeg hospital. Meanwhile, UCP hands out money to billionaires for a new arena & oil well clean-up.
Let’s show our candidates that they must fight for public education to earn our votes.

Classrooms are overflowing and students can’t get the support and education they deserve. This is disastrous for the future of our children—and our province. Pledge to vote for candidates that will step up for public education: https://t.co/KrwYC2Jvrb
Don’t be fooled by the stories told by politicians. Alberta is spending less on public education per student than any other province in Canada.

Hot take:
If you view assessments results as just grades to give students instead of feedback for how well you provided learning, you're probably doing it wrong.
That is all.
If someone has the courage to admit they were wrong, you should have the grace to give them credit for admitting it. Rubbing it in encourages them to never admit being wrong again.
When Tier 1 is weak, lots of students look like they need intervention.
When Tier 2 is weak, lots of students look like they need Tier 3 or special education.
Strong investments in Tier 1 & Tier 2 is a critical starting place for prevention.
