As summer draws to a close we are still awaiting news from the trust as to Kenfig's future.
This summer has been a fantastic one for showcasing the best of the reserve with record fen orchid numbers and the community really engaging in protecting the reserve.
Without careful management we would cease to have the wonderful summer wildlife we have observed this summer from orchids to butterflies everything is reliant on the tireless work of David the warden and the volunteers.
This video shows the beauty of this wonderful
wildspace. Thank you to Ty Williams for creating and sharing this video.

We were pleased to hear he community council shared these concerns . Following last week's meeting with Heather and Lorna Councillor Tildesley has been able o speak to Kelly Watson the Head of Legal and Regulatory services for BCBC and she has been able to share some information
Members of the group will be attending the community meeting held at Cornelly Community Centre on June 29th at 6:30pm. This meeting is open to the public
Councillor Tildesley was very sympathetic and understanding it the group's concerns and is requesting that the question of KNR's future is featured on the agenda of the next Cornelly Community meeting being held this Wednesday
As of December 2019 Bridgend County Borough Council will no longer be responsible for managing Kenfig Nature Reserve (KNR) as they will not be renewing their long term lease on the land from The Kenfig Trust.
A group of concerned people that love KNR for many reasons has now been set up to highlight the importance of Kenfig to the community in order to secure the future management of the site
