As some of you know, I’ve been under the weather for the past couple of weeks and yesterday I had emergency gallbladder removal surgery at Novant Matthews Medical Center. The surgery went well and I’m feeling much better. Unfortunately, I’ll have to take the next couple of weeks to rest and recover. I’ll miss everyone lots and I’m excited to be back on the campaign trail and working harder than ever soon!
I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve been named a Target Race candidate by the @DLCC! National groups are paying attention, and they know that winning this election is critical to taking back power in the NC House. Learn more and support my campaign: https://t.co/iFDpH6r8XL
Honored to earn the endorsement of Carolina Forward. Our campaign is building real momentum because families want the same things: safer neighborhoods, strong public schools, and more affordable opportunities. Let’s keep growing this movement and move North Carolina forward.
It’s official: the primaries are over, and I’ll be on the November ballot facing Tricia Cotham.
Major outlets are already calling this race a 50-50 toss-up and the most competitive race in North Carolina.
If you’re ready to move past political extremism and fight for the representation our community deserves, join Team McCool. Let’s win this.
Honored to have the endorsement of the North Carolina Association of Educators. Supporting strong public schools and respecting educators will always be priorities for me. Thankful for their support and proud to stand with them.
Major fundraising deadline this week. Millions will be spent trying to defeat this campaign. I don’t have corporate machines behind me. I have people across District 105. If you believe in common sense leadership and real community investment, chip in today. Every dollar helps us compete. https://t.co/LlTpaVfRKp
That one hurt, but what a showing from the Panthers. You can feel the momentum building. This team is on the right path, no doubt. Love these guys. #KeepPounding
I’m grateful to the FBI, Mint Hill Police Department, and their law enforcement partners for their swift action to stop a potential act of violence and keep our community safe. Especially after everything Mint Hill PD has endured in recent weeks, their resolve and commitment to protecting this community deserve real recognition.
The #FBI thwarted a potential terrorist attack on New Year's Eve in North Carolina. The subject was directly inspired to act by ISIS. A federal criminal complaint alleges 18-year-old Christian Sturdivant planned a violent attack at a grocery store in Mint Hill. SAC Barnacle praised the swift action of the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, the @NYPDnews, @USAO_WDNC, @TheJusticeDept, and the Mint Hill Police Department to protect our community and Defend the Homeland. https://t.co/GQXsINgwmT
Today’s violence in Mint Hill is heartbreaking. My thoughts are with the two officers who were critically injured, their families, and the entire Mint Hill Police Department.
I’m grateful to the first responders and medical professionals who acted quickly and bravely.
Every Christmas Eve, we visit my dad’s childhood home.
Five brothers grew up here with very little, but with love, grit, and hard work.
Their story is why I believe every family deserves a real shot, no matter where they start.
That’s the American Dream I’m fighting for.
Proud to be with another bold Christian conservative fighting to protect NC families. Thank you Tricia for coming into our party and enduring the attacks from the left. May God bless and protect you and your loved ones. @triciacotham#ncpol#AmericaFirst
Candidate filing is officially closed, and I’m proud to be the Democratic nominee for NC House District 105.
This is the most competitive district in North Carolina, rated dead even.
This is our moment to build momentum and win. Let’s go.
Filed today to run for the NC House in District 105. I’m taking on Tricia Cotham in one of the Southeast’s most competitive races. This campaign is about our community and delivering leadership that actually shows up for people.
That feeling when extremism loses and the right people win.
A great night for common sense leadership. It’s just the beginning. Now to 2026 and defeating Tricia Cotham.
I’m running in the gerrymandered 105th District. Even when the deck is stacked, we’re still going to win. Join my campaign today! https://t.co/ZlJh9us0co
For those political observers whose top concern is that election district maps be contiguous and compact, here are the districts NC Republicans drew in 2024.
Ah, the ol' Emerald Isle-to-Warrenton district.
The NC legislature is focused on rigging maps instead of passing a budget. That says it all. I’m running because we need leaders who show up and do the work, not put on a show.
