@Teslarati Stop braking for shadows and when passing "oversized load" trucks. Did a 390 mile drive yesterday, had 2 unnecessary full emergency braking incidents and at least 10 other brake stabs for absolutely nothing but shadows on country roads
@itskyleconner It's rough... 140kw at 50%, 50kw at 80%.
But he says that isn't representative of the production curve, seems like they told him it'll be ~240kw instead of 180-190kw. If the whole curve is just 1.3x above that curve, it's not too bad... Also the efficiency numbers seem surprising
@PedalPowerPiero@Teslarati The car is doing calibration all the time, but mostly when resting. It's recommended to allow the car to get to low % and high % every so often to allow it to calibrate in those voltage ranges.
@brandenflasch This was a while ago but I charged on a Mercedes HYC400 with my EV6. When the target current jumped up, the charger slowly stepped up the current instead of matching the new current request. Is this some kind of compatibility thing and could it be changed/improved?
@itskyleconner@TeslaCharging Also noteworthy is the 1200A input which is the same as V3 cabinets. It would be insane if they didn't design the V4 cabinet to easily be swapped into V3 sites, but it's good to see indications of that intent. They can't roll out fast enough...
@itskyleconner This picture shows a short covered up pillar next to the cabinet, the posts don't have payment terminals so I wonder if they're going the single point of sale post route
@itskyleconner @alyssa_zupan @Tesla This was definitely Tesla's way of keeping you away from the V4 cabinet launch "oh yeah we'll definitely give you a cyber truck to use in Texas for this specific time period ;)"
@OutofSpecDetail Ah that makes sense then. I wonder if even the cheapest plan would do it. They've definitely fixed the server reliability, I haven't seen an outage once in the past 6 months and I use the app very regularly
@OutofSpecDetail Wow it really is tied to some tier of Kia connect, that's ridiculous. I have plus, what tier do you have? Having to pay for that garbage route planning is wild... Especially when it just works on Tesla and you can even preview it from the app
@OutofSpecDetail Did you update it back in April? Regardless, what I want to see is a "le mans" style race with the route planners to show just how bad these are compared to Tesla.
@OutofSpecDetail Oh absolutely. But I don't have that plan and I've got traffic and routing so idk. But I'm 99% sure you've got an older version of software since the ui looks a little different. Try updating the infotainment software, it really seems like it doesn't matter what plan you have
@OutofSpecDetail The video I sent was from my 2023 GT-Line so unless they somehow tied it to the tech package (good lord I hope not) it's one of the 2 things I mentioned
@OutofSpecDetail Oh trust me, I'm not defending the effectiveness. Not going under 20%, massively overestimating consumption (about 8% over for every 33% of usage), and picking 150kw or dealership chargers is unacceptable. ABRP is definitely better, if only we could force preconditioning...
@OutofSpecDetail But it did the exact same thing the new EV6 did? It's really slow but it's faster than a complete novice trying to research stations on plugshare along a route. All I ask is that you show what the system can do... Even if it is shit
