I've always wanted to become a better DM like @matthewmercer and @BrennanLM
I've worked with a team to create Wyvern AI. A tool to help Game Masters develop their homebrew world.

@CreaturesChrons Makes sense for certain activities.
I just don’t try to enforce a fire. It’s usually a trivial mechanic and in many circumstances unnecessary.
I’ve camped IRL many times without a fire.
How to get your one-shot plot started?
Start in medias res.
The tavern’s already on fire, the treasure map is stolen, or the ritual is half-complete. Skip the setup—jump into the action!
One-shot magic happens when your NPCs stand out!
Make them quirky, memorable, and just a little mysterious.
The pirate with a heart of gold or a bard hiding a dark secret can get the players invested.
Perfect your one-shot with some of these elements:
1) A time limit (rescue the princess before dawn!),
2) A compelling twist (the princess is a dragon?!),
3) A unique setting (a city floating above molten lava).
Why do your one shot games usually suck?
You over prepare. That’s it!
Players will zig when you want them to zag. Build a flexible framework, know your NPC motivations, and let the table bring the chaos. 🌀
