[Ryder Cup Europe @RyderCupEurope]

On this day, 99 years ago the Ryder Cup began 🏆

Pictured here, the first ever Ryder Cup team cross the Atlantic aboard the Aquitania on their way to Worcester Country Club, Massachusetts, to take on the United States team (3-4 June 1927).

The team, founded by Samuel Ryder himself (second left), were at the time representing Great Britain and selected by a committee of PGA Officials that consisted of golfing icons Harry Vardon, J.H. Taylor and James Braid.

The matches proved to be a baptism of fire for the visitors, who were suffering from illness and fatigue after the six-day crossing, losing 9.5-2.5 to the Americans led by Walter Hagen. The first playing of the matches consisted solely of foursomes and singles across two days.

Yet, this was the start of something special, and the event had caught the imagination of fans on both sides of the Atlantic. A rematch was subsequently organised for 1929, at Moortown Golf Club, and one of sport’s greatest rivalries was ignited...

In 2027, Adare Manor will host the 46th Ryder Cup Matches and mark 100 years since this great sporting spectacle began.

President Trump posted on Truth Social this evening:

"IF YOU GO AFTER ME, I'M COMING AFTER YOU!"

I have a few things to say about this.

If I was innocent I wouldn't be trying to intimate the prosecutors or the witnesses or the potential jury. What I would be doing is posting the reasons why I am innocent and welcoming a free and fair trial.

If I was arrested on multiple felonies, made bond and returned home to Tweet out "IF YOU GO AFTER ME, I'M COMING AFTER YOU!" I would almost certainly be arrested.

- Innocent people usually spend their time fighting for the truth.

- Guilty people spend their time attacking those who discovered their crimes.

My home was raided by Homeland security in 2016. They accused me of wire fraud and money laundering. I literally spent months sorting through documents to prove that I broke no laws. I never ONCE attacked the people who were investigating me. In fact I helped them, and ultimately was never even arrested or charged with a crime.

Wake up America.
