Interesting debate here regarding the NHS tracing app. The Guido Fawkes team are right to be sceptical regarding efficacy and data guardianship. But their confidence in the Apple/Google alternative approach is touching! It's the wrong solution regardless.

@Aiannucci “Far-right”.
How low you’ve sunk in your snobbish tantrum. How little respect you must have for yourself and us that you would write such a risible self-righteous teeet.
@markmcan@AbeKhayer @TechnoGuido @TheSun@DailyMailUK I see that you have tweeted a false accusation that you have proof of us lying - based on a careless error of your part - to two national newspapers. This is very serious. We must insist on an immediate apology and retraction.
@ComVoxLambeth As you have already identified ComVox, what @markmcan is telling you appears (1) to have no basis in observable experience (2) to make no sense in respect of votes being allowed from outside the UK (3) and not to be mentioned as real by the Petitions Team. Why is he doing that?
@mikebutcher@skepticmedic Again, I have to ask how this kind of childish insult is appropriate for a @TechCrunch editor, or for any kind of professional person?
@markmcan @TechnoGuido @KentHouseUK Thanks again for unwittingly supplying the helpful evidence today. I'm just sorry you made such a fool of yourself getting it so wrong and telling all those people that it 'proved' we were lying. Looking forward to your prompt retraction and apology.

1/ I'm afraid @markmcan you have screwed up humiliatingly. You have been scarily sloppy with the essential facts, and have also shown data that supports our case.
You must yourself now urgently retract and apologise if you have any integrity at all.
@GuidoFawkes@madgie1941
@pixeltrix@mikebutcher@jneill@stevehurcombe It seems you know as little about running companies as your friend @jneill does about the law. Its one thing to be ignorant, but quite another to parade your ignorance. Especially in public and on matters of commercial reputation. Sounds risky.
@mikebutcher@jneill@stevehurcombe I do wonder if this is a good look for a @TechCrunch editor? Your continued public campaign of politically-inspired crude and baseless insults would be demeaning from any professional. But for a journalist representing a respected firm? Forgive me unmuting you, needed screenshots
@markmcan@madgie1941 It seems that Mark has screwed up badly there. He has ‘disproved’ a statement we never made. And his ‘evidence’, ironically, backs up our claim. How very embarrassing for him. I don’t understand why he keeps posting that and other lies all over the internet. Seems reckless.
@markmcan@KevinHoldridge@mikebutcher@skepticmedic@KentHouseUK “Triggered” certainly covers it. Ironic that you talk of teenage behaviour given the petulant and childish behaviour from you and your pals. Feel free to spout more visceral rage if it makes you feel righteous. You had a chance to engage but couldn’t get past your own petulance.
@markmcan What a ridiculous tweet! And you weren’t even smart enough to edit my original comments. Anyone can see there that you are lying. Poor effort- it’s almost as if your political zealotry blinds you to rationality. Honestly, Mark, your rage is not a good substitute for thought.
@markmcan @TechnoGuido @KentHouseUK So you've dropped your earlier suggestion, Mark, that the entries are crossed-checked against electoral data?
Are our signatures still there? I don't know. I would hope not as we gave the petitions team all the details some time ago. If they're still up that opens more questions.
@AbeKhayer @TechnoGuido As someone standing for public office, you'll have no trouble grasping key issues quickly. Have a read of the article where we explain this was a quick-and-dirty limited test to establish if the petition could be gamed in numbers. It turned out that it could. Seems a big issue?
@markmcan @TechnoGuido @KentHouseUK “Fake names can't fool the electoral roll”. That’s probably fair, and is certainly a strong argument in favour of ballots over petitions. Unless you’re saying the petition system uses electoral data to verify signatures? That would be interesting, but I don’t think it is true?
@NigelDa78588063 @TechnoGuido Yes. we were just trying (successfully) to establish how easy it would be for ANYONE to manipulate the petition. No interest in doing it ourselves to skew results. And yes we’ve published our methodology and data to assist the authorities. I think that’s both your points covered?
