We celebrate you, Sabastian Sawe, for a performance of rare brilliance at the London Marathon. You have not only claimed a historic victory; you have redrawn the limits of human endurance, smashing the world record and breaking the two-hour barrier with extraordinary resolve.
This is more than a win; it is a defining moment. Your triumph places you firmly among the greats of global athletics and reaffirms Kenya as an enduring force at the pinnacle of distance running.
We also commend Hellen Obiri and Joyciline Jepkosgei for their remarkable second and third-place finishes in the women’s race. Your discipline and competitive fire continue to define the standard of Kenyan excellence on the world stage.
You have lifted our flag high, inspired a nation, and reminded the world of the power of determination. We are proud.
A record shattered and history made! Congratulations Sebastian Sawe on this outstanding performance. Credit also to our neighbours: Ethiopian and Uganda, for a spirited race. Another demonstration of athletic’s enduring contribution to brand Kenya. Thank you!

ATTENTION TO KENYANS IN SWITZERLAND
The State Department for Diaspora Affairs has onboarded core services on the eCitizen Platform and onboarded the same with the Diaspora Integrated Information Management System (DIIMS) portal.
A Nation Stands Still 🇰🇪
Today, as we lay to rest the Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, my heart is heavy with the weight of personal loss and the nation’s shared grief. Raila was not just a comrade in the struggle for democracy, justice and a better Kenya, he was my brother, my friend, and my ally in some of the most defining moments of our nation’s history.
President Ruto Leads the Nation in Paying Last Respects to the Late Former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga
Today, on 16th October 2025, His Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, led the nation in viewing the remains of the late former Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Raila Amolo Odinga, as he lay in state at Kasarani Stadium.
The solemn occasion was attended by His Excellency Prof. Abraham KIthure Kindiki, Deputy President of the Republic; Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary Foreign and Diaspora Affairs; His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta, former President; the Speakers of the National Assembly and the Senate; the Chief of the Defence Forces; members of the Cabinet; and senior government officials.
Also present were leaders of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party, where the late Rt. Hon. Odinga served as Party Leader, alongside representatives from across the political divide, the diplomatic corps, and thousands of Kenyans who came to pay their final respects.
Kenya mourns the Rt.Hon Raila Amolo Odinga.
The Republic of Kenya stands in mourning, yet also in awe — for we have lost not merely a statesman, but a pillar of Kenya’s democratic soul, and the unyielding sentinel of political integrity.
He championed multiparty democracy when it was dangerous. He negotiated peace in the wake of conflict and elevated constitutional reform — including the
2010 Constitution — as a guarantee that every Kenyan, in every corner, would be seen, heard, and valued.
As Prime Minister, he held the threads of power-sharing with courage. In the 2008 National Accord, he worked to stitch together a nation torn — laying the foundation for reconciliation and collective purpose.
Let this oil - textured portrait of Hon. Odinga, skilfully sketched by a Second Secretary @ForeignOfficeKE,
@YashChannan, be a mirror for our conscience, a call to duty, and a beacon for future generations. Let the colors rippling through his likeness remind us: Kenya’s diversity is its strength, and unity
must always be our dream in motion.
You taught us to dream — now we must build. You gave us your courage — now we must carry it. Rest in eternal power our Father, Baba.
