@ZeusSarkcess@Breaking911 The win is that there’s no possibility of him doing this again to another child. This outcome is a direct result of his own (disgusting) actions.
@ZeekArkham@TrevorSheatz Usually I’m on board with you Zeek. However sharing testimonies is a powerful tool. Plus she actually has a way more detailed post pinned to her account. This post was definitely not over sharing on her behalf.

Unrealized gains tax for Gen-Z:
You buy a Pokémon card for $50.
Someone offers you $500 for it. You say no. You love that card. You're keeping it.
The government says: "Cool, but that card is worth $500 now. You owe us $100 in taxes."
You: "…I didn't sell it."
Government: "Don't care. Pay up."
You don't have $100 lying around. So you're forced to sell the card you love just to pay a tax on money you never received.
Next month? That card drops back to $50.
Your card is gone. Your money is gone. And the government shrugs.
That's a wealth tax on unrealized gains. They don't pay you back the tax...
Now picture this.
Your mom calls you crying. She has to sell the house she raised you in. Not because she can't afford it. She's lived there 30 years. It's paid off.
But some website says it's worth more now and the government says she owes $15,000 she doesn't have.
So she sells your childhood home. The kitchen where she made you breakfast. The doorframe where she marked your height every birthday.
Gone.
To pay a tax on money that was never real.
Now picture the opposite.
Your dad put everything into his small business. For 20 years he built it from nothing. One year the business is "valued" at $2 million on paper. He owes a massive tax bill. He empties his savings. Sells his truck. Borrows money. Pays it.
Next year the market crashes. His business is worth $200,000.
He lost everything to pay a tax on a number that doesn't exist anymore.
Does the government give him his money back?
No.
Does the government give him his truck back?
No.
Does the government care?
No.
They sold this idea as "taxing billionaires." But billionaires have armies of lawyers, offshore accounts, and trusts. They'll be fine.
You know who won't be fine? Your mom. Your dad. Your neighbor with a small business. The farmer down the road who's had the same land for four generations and now has to sell it because dirt got expensive.
You're not taxing wealth. You're taxing people for owning things.
It's like getting a parking ticket for a car you might drive somewhere someday.
They want you to own nothing and be happy. To fund the fraud, waste and abuse of the welfare state they created.
There is enough money. More tax isn't needed. It's all a lie. But you've been gaslit into believing this is a rich vs poor debate.
I hope you understand what's at stake.
our loved ones are murdered. Accountability begins with being informed and speaking with care, especially when addressing acts of violence that permanently alter the lives of those left behind.
The McCourt family will continue to advocate for meaningful accountability for violent offenders and for public safety conversations grounded firmly in truth. Bailey’s life, and the violence that took it, must never be misconstrued and reduced to a policy narrative that is not reflective of reality.
Canadians deserve leadership that strengthens trust, not weakens it. Bailey deserved that standard. So does every family forced to endure such loss.

Shocking and appalling. 🚨🚨
@gary_srp please read the statement by Bailey McCourt’s family.
Apologize and more importantly, resign, you do not deserve this file, in your words during testimony “you are not an expert”:
“After watching the recent committee proceedings, we feel compelled to respond to testimony given by Canada’s Minister of Public Safety concerning the weapon used in her murder.
Bailey’s name has been spoken numerous times in the House of Commons, and her case has helped inform national conversations about violence and accountability. Parliamentarians voted in favour of Bailey’s Law, reflecting an understanding that her story carries weight in shaping public safety policy. It is therefore both troubling and difficult to comprehend that commentary from the country’s top public safety official. The fact that he didn't know what weapon was used to kill her is mind boggling. Her story has been told many many times. He then went on to suggest that both the weapon of choice AND the individual who committed the murder were at fault.
Bailey was murdered in broad daylight, in a public parking lot, in front of witnesses, with a hammer. Her colleague was injured during the attack. The perpetrator showed a complete disregard for all human life, not just Bailey's, and nearly ran over a witness while fleeing. These are not secondary details they speak directly to the brutality and recklessness of the crime and the criminal committing the crime.
Let us be unequivocal, Bailey’s family is not calling for hammers or tools of any kind to be banned. This tragedy was not caused by an object. It was caused by a person who made the deliberate decision to carry out an act of extreme violence. Responsibility must remain squarely where it belongs with the offender. The only other contributing factor is laws like bill C-75 that allowed her murdered to be out on bail. The Minister neglected to mention that contributing factor.
For the Minister of Public Safety to suggest that an inanimate object shares fault with the individual who chose to commit murder is deeply alarming. Such reasoning reflects a profound failure in judgment and risks distorting the very foundation of criminal accountability, and is insulting to our family, our grief and is re-traumatizing.
To many Canadians, the Minister's statements raise a serious concern, that a victim’s murder may be interpreted through a pre-existing policy lens rather than assessed on the facts of the case. When commentary appears aligned with broader policy objectives, including the defending of firearm buyback measures, it undermines confidence in the leadership responsible for safeguarding the public. That erosion of trust is not theoretical and public safety depends on it!
Canadians must be able to trust that the Minister of Public Safety speaks with factual accuracy, sound judgment, and a clear understanding of the cases referenced in national discussions. When that confidence is shaken, it extends far beyond one family, it affects communities across this country.
This is not a partisan issue. It is a matter of responsibility, competence, and respect for victims. No family should be left feeling that their loved one’s death is being used to support a narrative that does not reflect reality. Bailey was not a policy example or a talking point. She was a daughter, a mother, a friend, and a deeply loved member of her community whose life was taken in an act of shocking violence. The perpetrator, her ex-husband is responsible and accountable for these actions!
The family is therefore calling on the Minister of Public Safety to publicly acknowledge the seriousness of these remarks, correct the record so that responsibility is placed clearly on the offender, and issue an apology for the additional pain caused by commentary that appeared disconnected from the facts. You discount every single family that has lived through this type of tragedy by blaming the weapon or means by which 1/2

“You are quite openly Jewish. This is a pro-Palestinian rally. If you choose to remain here you will be arrested for breaching the peace.”
London has been conquered by Islamism.
October 7 didn’t happen because Palestinians were denied a state; it happened because they were given one.
Compromised Western leaders are part of the problem, not the solution. They didn’t recognize a state; they only validated barbarism and legitimized terrorism. The only outcome of their political gamble is more bloodshed and global chaos.
