Today the curtain falls for the final time on The Quiet Man as part of @DubTheatreFest
An incredible 18 performances from a formidable cast and crew.
👏👏👏👏
I travelled to the Civic Theatre in Tallaght in Dublin for the opening night of The Quiet Man, adapted from the short story by Maurice Walsh that inspired the Hollywood film with John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara. I recently interviewed Art Campion, who plays Paddy Bán Enright, so I was excited to see the result of their hard work.
Friends, I would hop on the red line Luas to Tallaght (it drops you a stone's throw from the door) and see this elegant show. It's darker than the film and produced with depth, wit, grace, and gorgeous choreography, set and costume design. I was charmed by it all. Get thee there! #IrishTheatre #TheQuietMan
Amazing review from #Newshub "a powerful reminder of the importance of storytelling in preserving our history and connecting with our roots. Imelda May’s performance transcends mere entertainment; it’s a celebration of the Irish spirit"
