8L enjoyed their trip down the road to @clevelandpools to experience their 'Curious Club' and think about the different materials. A beautiful day too... shame we didn't bring our own swimming costumes, although a water temperature of 10 degrees C was a little daunting!
Thank you to Fabienne @BathChem for making us so welcome. Lots of excellent Practical Chemistry done and skills improved. Refluxing, filtration under reduced pressure, thin layer chromatography, infra-red spectroscopy, and melting point determination.
Our Year 13 Chemists enjoyed the opportunity to use the University of Bath's superb undergraduate laboratory to manufacture some Aspirin. Thank you for having us @BathChem !! #aspirin#headachewhatheadache
What a lovely way to end our #KESBathScienceWeek. Mr G-R bringing out all the tricks with his dry ice demos. He even got a round of applause from the appreciative audience.

What a superb talk from Ecotricity's Mr Crowfoot about his work on the company's 'Skydiamond' project. https://t.co/xik27pfeU4
Thank you for coming in and trusting us to play with the diamonds.#alltheblingnoneofthesting#skydiamond#KESBathScienceWeek
What do French postmen, pizza, a 5-year old's saliva and itch scratching have in common? We hope Year 10 enjoyed Mr Oehler's assembly this morning. Is there really such a thing as a 'silly idea' or can science always find a way to make things work.

Year 12 Chemists are up at @BathChem doing the @RoySocChem young analysts competition 2023! First 25 minutes have passed and groups are working away at the array of tasks! Thanks for hosting @UniofBath ! #Kesbathscienceweek
Good to see the Physics Department kicking off our Science Week with the Year 7 Tower Challenge. Amazing what you can do with some marshmallows and dried spaghetti. The most successful used their marshmallows in their structures, rather than just eating them! #KESBathScienceWeek
Good to see the Physics Department starting Science Week with the Year 7 Tower Challenge. Amazing what you can do with some marshmallows and dried spaghetti, key to this was using their marshmallows in their structures, rather than just eating them! #KESBathScienceWeek
Our Year 12 Chemists took part in this year's @RoySocChem Olympiad (which is aimed at Year 13). All won a medal and Luc achieved a 'Gold' award making him one of the top performing in the country! I'm sure they are all looking forward to their trip to Bath University next week.
