New footage obtained by B’Tselem uncovers the moments when the Abu Haikal family was shot. Seven-month-old Sam Abu Haikal was killed in the shooting, and both his parents were injured. The footage clearly shows that the Israeli soldier fired at the car as it was slowing to a stop. The car was far from the soldiers and posed no danger to them whatsoever.
Moments later, in another video obtained by B’Tselem, seven-month-old Sam’s father, Fahed, is seen just after his son was shot. Fahed is holding baby Sam in his arms, trying to stop the bleeding from his head with his hands, while Sam’s mother, Daniyah, who was also injured by the gunfire while holding her son, is seen sitting on the ground, next to the car.
Last Friday, 5 June, an Israeli soldier fired at a Palestinian family driving home from a family visit, as they sat in their car in the Tel Rumeidah neighborhood in Hebron. The family was shot as the car was slowing to a stop at the soldier’s command. Sam, a seven‑month‑old baby who was in his mother’s arms in the back seat, was struck in the head and pronounced dead shortly afterward. Sam’s parents were also injured by the gunfire; his mother is still in the hospital. After the shooting, the soldier who fired and another soldier who was with him left the scene without checking the car or offering any assistance to the critically wounded baby or to his mother.
In the past two and a half years, Israel has killed tens of thousands of children in Gaza and the West Bank. The immunity it gets from the international community has led to a reality where, under Israeli rule, Palestinian lives are entirely disposable – even a seven‑month‑old baby.
@SaulStaniforth the perpetrators (snipers shooting kids) are celeberated and allowed to walk free in our cities in the UK. any attempt to hold them responsible is attacked as antisemitic by @BoardofDeputies et al. The #IDF dual citizens need to be held accountable
Israeli journalist Gideon Levy:
"Now that [Gaza] has been destroyed almost completely, Israel is advancing confidently toward the next phase: making the entire population permanently disabled, injured, sick, hungry, homeless and unemployed."
It's the prelude, says Levy, to mass expulsion.
"No society can function without teachers, doctors, social workers, engineers and clerks. And without a functioning society, it's easy to expel Gaza's residents to the four corners of the earth."

I don't care what political party you represent, Tory, Labour, Green, Lib Dem, Reform. I was taught, quite rightly, that the Holocaust was humanity's greatest crime. I did Holocaust Studies as part of my History/ Politics degree at Uni of Bham with the late great Professor Grenville, himself a Jewish refugee who escaped the terror of Nazi Germany as a kid. If you are not calling out the current genocide we are painfully witnessing in Gaza and Lebanon, a live streamed and documented genocide then you are dead to me. Labour, Green, Reform... Dont care. Start with a clear moral position on that before you tell me about how you will tax me and what your policies on education are or the environment etc or what you plan to do with the 20 mile an hour speed limit. I dont give a shit. Start with something we were taught would never happen again because of silent complicity. Tell me how you feel about children being shot in the head for fun or the raping of prisoners or the 100s of 1000s of dead and missing. Tell me about how you filter the unimaginable horror, the insane bombing and murder, day after day, week after week, months and now years. Dont just have an opinion. Show me that you're actually human and everything else (after a live streamed and documented geneocide that slowly destroys my own sense of humanity on a daily basis) will follow that.
Labour MPs have named me in this letter.
It is not racist to speak the truth.
I will never stop speaking up for the victims of Grooming Gangs or the victims of Islamist terrorism.
To do so is not Islamophobic.
It is absolutely essential if we are to get justice and keep our country safe.
@Tallow_beach@BenGreenJeru on the day the story breaks of a massive paedophile ring within the jewish settlements. shove your jewish supremacy where it doesnt shine.
@BennyShohat@BenGreenJeru dont be so obtuse..Eid meant the area would be busy with families so dropping several missiles in their midst would lead to civilian casulaties. but then again you and the IDF dont a give a shit about palestinian civilians.
@BenGreenJeru I won't be sending my name or naming a time. we both know what that's about.
I can grieve murdered children without it being an endorsement of anyone. You've spent this whole thread proving you can't do the same. That's the difference between us, and I'm fine with it.
@BenGreenJeru Opposing the killing of innocent civilians isn't support for Hamas. You live between the river and the sea — so do millions of Palestinians, and their tens of thousands of innocent dead deserve grief too. Grieving them is the bare minimum of being decent.
@BenGreenJeru Jewish israelis were committing acts of terror (even against the british) way before Hamas existed. The fact that your 'regret' had to be teased out of you says it all.
At least 72,803 Palestinians have been killed and 172,855 injured, many with life-altering wounds, since the beginning of Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

On April 29th three people were attacked by the same person just hours apart. The first a British Muslim, the second two, British Jews
You rightly spoke up for the British Jewish community, but you repeatedly ignored the British Muslim who was attacked
Spare us your faux sentiment, your leadership is creating an island of strangers
