"Can the hungry go on a hunger strike? Non-violence is a piece of theatre. You need an audience. What can you do when you have no audience? People have the right to resist annihilation." - Arundhati Roy. This quote knocked like 16 years of liberal pacifism out of me in one go.
Republicans can never claim to be the party of law and order again... disappointing but not surprised you can get away with staging a coup as long as you have the all important "R" next to your name.
Still can't get over the GOP pretending that removing Marjorie Taylor Greene from committees is some slippery slope. Tell you what-- if a Democrat ever calls for the execution of a lawmaker or insists that a school shooting that left 14 kids dead is a false flag, remove them too.
So excited to once again have a president we can criticize for having absurd political stances like opposing a single-payer health care system instead of having absurd political stances like we should overthrow democracy so I can be dictator for life
Members of Congress take an oath to support and defend the Constitution. The House fulfilled that duty today by impeaching President Trump for inciting an insurrection. The Senate must fulfill its oath immediately by convicting and barring him from ever holding office again.
Let's talk about unity.
It’s not an empty talking point. It has to mean something.
We must be united against attacks on our democracy.
United against those who violate their oaths.
United against a president who incites a violent mob to overturn an election.
That's unity.
Has even one of the GOP officials or MAGA media who spread the election lies, or supported Sedition, or incited the mob, publicly expressed an ounce of regret or contrition?
Asking for a democracy.
Incitement of insurrection is an impeachable offense.
No one contests that.
Either we uphold our oath to protect the constitution, or we do not.
Either we safeguard our democracy, or we do not.
It’s really that simple. Trump must be impeached. Now.
I know where I stand.
Donald Trump's day so far:
- Mitch McConnell is in favor of impeachment
- Liz Cheney and other House Republicans voting to impeach
- Deutsche Bank has cut Trump off
- DC Attorney General investigating Trump for incitement
- Trump is going to prison
- It's still only 6:30pm
It has been five days since Donald Trump encouraged a coup attempt that left five people dead and he is still somehow the President of the United States
