@natsfert @randykeel61 FDA's biggest failure for the supplement industry is enforcement. Failure to enforce the law negatively impacts compliance with the law. Unfortunately for CBD companies, FDA won't publicly give them insight on how to comply.

@natsfert @randykeel61 This is an important point and what has companies in limbo due to FDA's failure to act. When FDA does finally come out of hiding and sets a daily exposure level, I doubt it will say that eating a snack size bag of chips with CBD is just as safe as slamming two family-size bags.

@natsfert Consumers should be concerned if that is the advice CBD companies are receiving. When two qualifiers like "shouldn't" and "major" are used within three words of "problems", that is a problem. Better to say "the science supports . . . ."

@natsfert Exactly. FDA needs to set a safe level of daily exposure for CBD products. They have the authority to do this now, but won't do it, which leaves industry stakeholders with no regulatory oversight or even guidance. FDA wants the exclusive power to regulate - so regulate.

@randykeel61 You're right -- it is confusing, which is why I spent 50 min on the phone yesterday trying to make sure I understood! Dietary supplements are more regulated than food products than chips or soda. The regulations are not enforced strongly, however. (1/)
