This story gets so much worse. Apparently this all started because police were called out for a disturbance after her husband broke their tv out of anger after finding out his brother was killed by Israel in Gaza. The husband is Palestinian. When the police were taking him into custody his wife stopped them because she wanted to accompany him and that is when the officer threw her on the ground for “interference.” The couple was cooperative with the police the entire time and yet this is how they were treated.
She delivered the baby prematurely because of the physical trauma on her body but thankfully both she and the baby survived and are in good health. She easily could have miscarried.
This entire police department should be investigated and that officer should be arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
If D66 politicians show up again to events like the red line they should be kicked out. Our prime minister showed up to the red line to grab votes, got what he wanted and is now running the same policy as any other government before him.
China's economy is built on the backs of the Chinese people.
This model is unsustainable, harmful, and could produce rapid decline.

🚨UPDATE: The Swiss government has admitted that there was no justification for the entry ban that led to my arrest and detention last year.
Here are the details as published on @intifada:
Switzerland's national government has acknowledged that there was no justification for an entry ban and expulsion order against The Electronic Intifada's director Ali Abunimah in January 2025.
The Federal Council – Switzerland's national cabinet – said that the order against Abunimah had been issued without supporting evidence and in violation of established procedures.
The ban on Abunimah resulted in his arrest and detention – actions that a Zurich court has already ruled violated the Swiss constitution and the European Convention on Human Rights.
Abunimah was held in prison for three days and then deported, preventing him from speaking at two planned events about the Israeli genocide in Gaza – an abuse that occurred amid intensifying global censorship related to Palestine.
His appeals against the entry ban and the expulsion order are still pending before Switzerland's federal court.
The Federal Council's pronouncement came in a statement endorsing a parliamentary report published last November. That report found serious abuses in how the Federal Office of Police (Fedpol) had dealt with Abunimah.
The case was "not handled in accordance with established procedures," the Federal Council stated on 2 March.
Initially, Fedpol rejected a request from the government of the Canton of Zurich for an entry ban on Abunimah, concluding that his views were protected by freedom of expression and that he posed no risk to Switzerland's security.
But as the Federal Council confirms, "after an initial refusal by Fedpol's legal department to issue a ban, the commander of the Zurich cantonal police intervened with the then-director of Fedpol. She subsequently instructed the relevant department" to issue an entry ban.
The statement acknowledges that no new facts had come to light justifying a reversal of an earlier decision.
At the time, Nicoletta della Valle was Fedpol director.
The parliamentary report found evidence of improper political interference by della Valle – who has expressed outspoken pro-Israel views.
Right after she retired as Fedpol director, she took a job with an Israeli hedge fund that focuses on investments in the arms industry and has ties to Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party.
According to the Federal Council, della Valle's intervention in the case was unprecedented and exceeded her authority.
The government accepted the parliamentary report's recommendation for tighter oversight of Fedpol by Switzerland's justice ministry.
In addition to his appeals against the entry ban and expulsion order, Abunimah has filed criminal complaints against several individuals, including della Valle.
He has previously stated that he is pursuing accountability and transparency through the courts, "to defend my rights and to deter similar abuses against others."

🔻Statement regarding my appointment at the VUB:
"On Sunday evening I had a meeting with the VUB to discuss my future at the University. Only minutes later, I was surprised to see a public statement announcing the end of my planned appointment, while I have still not received written confirmation of this from the university. Learning this through the media causes me considerable harm, and seems intended to cause reputational damage.
On Friday last week, the VUB expressed support for me and told me, and Belgian newspaper de Morgen:
"If statements conflict with Belgian law, it is up to the judiciary to take action, not us as a university. If this leads to a conviction, we will review the situation, but as far as we are concerned, what someone posts on X falls under the domain of private life and freedom of expression."
In the last few days, I have not been convicted of any crime, nor been contacted by the police. I have never been convicted of a crime, in Belgium, the Netherlands, or elsewhere. This is because my statements against Zionism and in support of Palestinian resistance and Iran as they face Zionist aggression were and have always been within the boundaries of the law. The suggestion that my statements ‘cross legal boundaries’ is slanderous.
Furthermore, contrary to public statements, I did not make any agreements with the VUB about my expressions on my private X account prior to my appointment. As I have done since the genocide in Gaza began in October 2023, I continued to use my platform to call for an end to the Zionist project, and support Palestinian resistance against it. The VUB had full knowledge of my online statements, and never brought any of these up with me during the hiring process, before or after signing the contract.
My online activism has no impact on my job, which I love, and professional capacity to carry out my European Research Council grant. I fully intend to do this.
What is clear is that this is yet another example of attempts by Zionist lobby groups to attack and shut down people who express support for Palestinians as they face genocidal erasure across the West. The double standards which are applied to people who express anti-Palestinian statements is proven time and time again. I will never stop speaking out against Zionism. We deserve institutions that actively stand up to Zionist pressure, preserve freedom of speech, and cut their ties completely with the Zionist project. As proven by other cases in Belgium and across the West, we clearly do not have them at present.
In the meantime, I continue to pray for and express solidarity with the Lebanese, Iranian, and Palestinian people who are right now suffering and fighting against Zionist terror."

JULIAN ASSANGE FILES CRIMINAL COMPLAINT AGAINST NOBEL FOUNDATION OVER “INSTRUMENT OF WAR” PEACE PRIZE
WikiLeaks Founder Alleges 2025 Award to María Corina Machado Constitutes Misappropriation, Facilitation of War Crimes Under Swedish Law, Seeks Freeze of 11 million SEK ($1.18 million USD) of Pending Transfers to Machado
STOCKHOLM — 11:00am CET December 17, 2025
Julian Assange today filed a criminal complaint in Sweden accusing 30 individuals associated with the Nobel Foundation, including its leadership, of committing serious suspected crimes, including the crime of gross misappropriation of funds, facilitation of war crimes and crimes against humanity, and the financing of the crime of aggression.
The complaint shows that Alfred Nobel's 1895 will explicitly mandates that the peace prize go to the individual who during the proceeding year “conferred the greatest benefit to humankind” by doing “the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses.”
Assange argues that “The political decision of the Norwegian selection committee does not suspend the fiduciary duty of Swedish funds administrators”. “Any disbursement contradicting this mandate constitutes misappropriation from the endowment”.
The complaint, submitted simultaneously to the Swedish Economic Crime Authority (Ekobrottsmyndigheten) and the Swedish War Crimes Unit (Krigsbrottsenheten), states that the suspects, including Nobel Foundation Chair Astrid Söderbergh Widding and Executive Director Hanna Stjärne, converted “an instrument of peace into an instrument of war,” through suspected “serious criminality” including:
1) Breach of trust, gross misappropriation and conspiracy in relation to the pending 11 million SEK ($1.18 million) disbursement of the Peace prize monies to Maria Corina Machado, whose prior and ongoing actions categorically exclude her from the criteria set out in Alfred Nobel's will;
2) Facilitation of war crimes, including the crime of aggression and crimes against humanity, breaching Sweden's obligations under Article 25(3)(c) of the Rome Statute, because the accused are aware of Machado's incitement and endorsement of the U.S. commission of international crimes, and knew or ought to have known that the disbursement of Nobel monies would contribute to extrajudicial killings of civilians and shipwrecked survivors at sea and are in breach of their obligation to cease disbursements.
Assange notes that the members of the Nobel Foundation have previously exercised their supervisory authority over the prizes and their disbursements by withholding Literature Prize disbursements in 2018. “Failure to intervene here, despite U.S. war crimes off the Venezuelan coast and Machado’s key role in furthering aggression” incurs criminal liability.
“Alfred Nobel's endowment for peace cannot be spent on the promotion of war,” Assange states. The accused have concrete legal obligations because they are tasked with “ensuring the fulfillment of the intended purpose of Alfred Nobel’s will, that is, to end wars and war crimes, and not to enable them.”
MACHADO'S INCITEMENT OF THE LARGEST U.S. MILITARY BUILDUP SINCE THE IRAQ WAR MAKE HER CATEGORICALLY INELIGIBLE
The complaint notes how the Nobel announcement and ceremony have occurred in what military analysts describe as “the largest U.S. military deployment in the Caribbean since the Cuban Missile Crisis”—now exceeding 15,000 personnel, including the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford. The escalation continues as President Trump announced on December 10, two days after the Nobel ceremony, that U.S. strikes would be “starting by land.” The Venezuela strategy is part of what Trump’s Secretary for War, Peter Hegseth, calls a shift toward “maximum lethality, not tepid legality” and “going on the offence”.
Against this backdrop, Assange states that “Machado has continued to incite the Trump Administration to pursue its escalatory path”, including by entering into a conspiracy to give the U.S. administration access to $1.7 trillion in oil reserves and other natural resources through privatization once Maduro is ousted.
“Using her elevated position as the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, Machado may well have tipped the balance in favour of war, facilitated by the named suspects.” Assange states in the criminal complaint.
The complaint lists evidence of this incitement of U.S. military intervention, as well as praising Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's conduct in Gaza. Her statements include:
- “Military escalation may be the only way... the United States may need to intervene directly” (30 October 2025)
- Machado called U.S. military strikes on civilian vessels, which have killed at least 95 people to date, “justified” and “visionary”.
- Machado dedicated the prize to U.S. President Trump, because he “finally has put Venezuela... in terms of a priority for the United States national security”
- Historical statements including 2014 testimony before U.S. Congress where she said: “The only path left is the use of force”
The filing cites extensive third-party expert and institutional opposition to Machado receiving the award:
- 21 Norwegian peace organizations declared: “Machado is the opposite of a peace laureate.”
- Nobel Peace Prize laureate Adolfo Pérez Esquivel stated: “Giving the prize to someone who calls for foreign invasion is a mockery of Alfred Nobel's will.”
- The Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) confirmed Machado “has called for military intervention in Venezuela.”
REQUESTED ACTION
The complaint notes that “There is a real risk that the funds derived from Nobel’s endowment have been or will be intentionally or negligently diverted from their charitable purpose to facilitate aggression, crimes against humanity, and war crimes.”
Assange requests that Swedish authorities:
1. Immediately freeze of the pending SEK 11,000,000 monetary prize transfer and any remaining related budget and secure return of the medal.
2. Investigate the named persons and Foundation officers and associated entities for breach of trust, facilitation of war crimes and crimes against humanity, and conspiracy.
3. Seize of board minutes, emails, group chats, financial records.
4. Interrogate Widding, Stjärne and other suspects.
5. Fully investigate domestically or refer the matter to the ICC (Rome Statute Art. 25(3)(c)).
“This complaint seeks the immediate freezing of all remaining funds and a full criminal investigation lest the Nobel Peace Prize be permanently converted from an instrument of peace into an instrument of war,” Assange concludes.
Europe just crossed a massive red line for China: this is more provocative a move that even the US themselves EVER dared do. It never happened before.
Which makes this move frankly incomprehensible: why would Europe cross a line that even the US - even when it was at the peak of its power - always considered it couldn't afford to cross? All the more for an issue where Europe has no role, and when Europe is far more dependent on Chinese trade than the US? There's nothing to gain here for Europe, and a lot to lose: this move is purely destructive.
There's only one precedent I can think of: in 1995 when ROC president Lee Teng-hui spoke at Cornell University (his alma mater). This was framed as a PRIVATE visit (he spoke at a university, not Congress), and it was done at a time when China was orders of magnitude less powerful (and the US immensely more powerful relative to China), but it still sparked the Third Taiwan Strait Crisis. And, to boot, the US never repeated the experiment - Washington learned that even this lesser provocation wasn't worth the cost.
In fact, nowadays the U.S. doesn't so much as allows Taiwanese officials to even transit via the U.S.: earlier this year the Trump administration blocked President Lai from merely transiting U.S. soil on his way to Latin America, forcing him to cancel his trip altogether (https://t.co/ScSw1IeYU9). Yet Europe - with a fraction of America's leverage - just hosted Taiwan's VP at its Parliament. Pure madness.
So why would they do that? One can only speculate.
First of all this move was organized by IPAC, the so-called "Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China", a global grouping of legislators whose sole raison d'être is to escalate confrontation with China and perform anti-China theatrical gestures. Important context, IPAC was co-founded by Marco Rubio - now U.S. Secretary of State - who served as its inaugural U.S. Co-Chair.
So there's a likely scenario where this move was done at the behest of Washington in order to poison relations between China and the U.S., especially at a moment when the EU is apparently discussing with China a Free-Trade Agreement (FTA) similar in spirit to the Comprehensive Agreement on Investment (CAI) (https://t.co/AKcbkKuMJu), another EU-China FTA to which the U.S. was vehemently opposed and which they managed to torpedo.
How did the US torpedo the CAI? This is where it gets interesting: with an extremely similar move. In March 2021 they got EU parliamentarians to impose sanctions on four Chinese officials (https://t.co/BI9KtJsjGX) because they were linked to the so-called "Uyghur genocide", knowing full well that this would invite Chinese retaliation. And sure enough China responded by sanctioning EU officials, which immediately led all the Atlanticist MPs in the EU to scream bloody murder: "how could they do this to us? This unprovoked aggression is absolutely unacceptable! We cannot possibly do a trade deal under those conditions! Bla, bla, bla". The CAI was dead.
More details on the CAI move here: https://t.co/hWuJWKEkND
So that could be a scenario: Washington orchestrated this provocation through IPAC to trigger Chinese retaliation, giving Atlanticist MEPs the pretext to kill EU-China trade talks - all as a way to ensure Europe remains America's economic chasse gardée, limiting EU-China economic integration. The exact same playbook that worked to destroy the CAI in 2021.
Under this scenario, ironically the U.S. doesn't want to anger China themselves because they want maximum room to maneuver in their own bilateral relationship. A strategic flexibility they don't want Europe to have.
There could also, interestingly, be an exact opposite reading: European Atlanticists deliberately sabotaging the warming US-China relationship and Trump's "G2" overtures. Host Taiwan's VP → provoke Chinese retaliation → weaponize the crisis to force US escalation → make Trump-Xi accommodation politically impossible. The nightmare scenario for European Atlanticists is a US-China grand bargain that marginalizes Europe entirely, so they engineer provocations that make such a deal untenable.
Though, let's be clear, this assumes a level of strategic sophistication that seems beyond the current crop of European parliamentarians. But who knows...
Or it could also very well be simpler than all that: Atlanticist MEPs acting out of pure ideological conviction - European politicians who are so detached from the material realities of power, so marinated in transatlantic think tank talking points, and frankly so irresponsible, that they'll sacrifice European interests on the altar of their own moral self-image - treating great power relations as an opportunity for virtue signaling, consequences be damned.
Or it could be a mix of the above, or something else entirely.
One thing is sure though: this undoubtedly WILL further poison EU-China relations, which IS against EU interests because Europe's optimal strategic position is to maintain better relations with both Washington and Beijing than they have with each other. That's where Europe's leverage lies - as the balancer, the one both sides need to court. That's how you extract concessions and preserve options. This move destroys this optionality and shows that Europe - through manipulation, ideology, or sheer strategic incompetence - continues waging a war of anti-independence against itself.
You may think it’s barbaric and evil to force a 12 year old to give birth to her rapist’s baby at gunpoint. However, have you considered that we made an infant suffer unimaginable pain for the 2 hours he was alive for no reason? Not so black and white now, is it?
NEW | Instagram has removed the verified account of Gaza slain journalist Saleh al-Jafarawi, who had 4.5 million followers.
Archived snapshots of his page on the Wayback Machine, the largest public internet archive, also appear to have been wiped or disabled, raising concerns about digital erasure of Palestinian documentation.
Al-Jafarawi, known for his frontline reporting on the Gaza genocide, had previously faced repeated censorship. He was killed yesterday by an armed group collaborating with Israel.
Observers warn that these developments may signal “a new phase in efforts to erase evidence of Israeli war crimes from the internet.”
