Our voters want a check and balance against extreme policies, wherever they come from.

Richard Pan is now disparaging our local media, calling into question the ability of KCRA, ABC 10, and Fox40 to host "honest debates." That's his latest excuse for not participating.

I'd encourage every voter to listen to this embarrassing and frankly disqualifying exchange.

All Americans should have a say in the future of AI. But Congress has given little attention to the monumental issues we now face. That must change.

Three local TV stations - ABC, NBC, and Fox - have proposed debates. Richard Pan is refusing to participate in any of them. Yesterday a voter asked Pan why he is refusing to honor the democratic process that citizens in our district deserve.

Three years ago, I introduced the SAFE AI Act to make AI safety and alignment research a major federal priority. The capabilities of frontier AI models are now accelerating rapidly, faster than many expected. Congress should pass this bill with urgency.

AI has incredible potential to improve all of our lives. Yet realizing this potential depends critically on ensuring models are safely under human control and aligned with human values.

I've asked for a DOJ investigation into offshore betting on the Little League World Series and other youth sports. Such bets are even being made on individual players, with the potential for exploitation and harassment of young kids. We must put a stop to this.
