The white hat is one of Calgary’s greatest traditions, a symbol of our western hospitality and Alberta’s warm welcome.
It was a pleasure to present white hats to senior legislators from 🇺🇸 Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
Thank you for visiting Alberta and strengthening the partnerships that drive trade, investment, and opportunity on both sides of the border.
A special thanks to Nathan Cooper, Alberta’s Senior Representative to the United States, for helping make this visit possible.
“Rather than simply criticizing Ottawa’s economic vision, Smith presented one of her own—built around abundant energy, faster approvals, private investment, and the belief that Canada has too often imposed constraints on itself that many of its competitors have not.”

“Each announcement would have been a major victory for any premier. Together, they tell a much bigger story.”
Great piece by @TheHubCanada that lays out all of the incredible investment coming to Alberta we announced this week.
Yahoo 🤠
PREMIER SMITH: "This is one of the largest private sector investments in Canadian history."
Under her leadership, we're getting the job done for Albertans.
Disgusting cartoon Globe and Mail.
It’s utter garbage like this that is the true threat to national unity and economic progress. You should be ashamed of yourselves but you’re likely incapable of it.
Hopefully Albertans and Canadians will continue to unsubscribe from your rag.
@globeandmail
This might be the easiest fact check of the year.
Before attacking a $13 billion investment into Alberta, maybe read how the project actually works.
The Meta AI Data Centre uses advanced dry cooling technology and a closed loop cooling system designed to dramatically reduce water use.
It uses less water than a golf course. It is not draining Alberta’s water supply.
After this and other multi-billion dollar announcements this past week, perhaps a few folks should cool the now debunked claim that a referendum on our province’s future is scaring away investment.
It’s not. In fact, the opposite is true. We are leading the rest of the country in attracting investment by a country mile.
And it’s speeding up. So let’s stop the dramatics, debate the actual issues on the ballot and make a decision based on facts - not fear.
One of the largest private sector investments in Canadian history is coming home to Alberta.
@Meta has chosen Alberta for its first Canadian AI data centre, a historic $13 billion investment that will create thousands of jobs, strengthen our economy, and help position our province as a global leader in artificial intelligence and technology.
This project will support 3,000 construction jobs, 300 permanent positions, generate an estimated $250 million in annual benefits for Albertans, and invest $60 million into local roads, water, and community infrastructure.
Meta is fully funding new generation and grid infrastructure to support the data centre, which will improve reliability across the entire Alberta grid benefiting electricity customers across the province by reducing transmission costs by up to six per cent on Albertans’ utility bills.
We are proud to welcome Meta to and thank them for their confidence in our province, our economy, and most importantly, our people. Alberta has the energy, talent, and ambition to power the next generation of innovation.
Twenty years ago, the great Ralph Klein left office after leaving a remarkable legacy as Premier of Alberta.
Ralph believed in hard work, fiscal responsibility, low taxes, and trusting Albertans to build our province. He eliminated Alberta’s debt and helped create the Alberta Advantage that attracted people, jobs, and investment from across the country.
It was an honour to join the Banff Kananaskis UCP Stampede BBQ celebrating his legacy and the principles that continue to guide our province today.
Thank you to all of our volunteers and everyone who worked so hard to make this event possible.
The Stampede fun is endless! 🤠
Thanks to Canadian Strategy Group for a fantastic evening earlier this week.
It was great catching up with friends, meeting new people and enjoying another night at the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.
It was a pleasure to meet Her Excellency 🇳🇱 Margriet Vonno @MargrietVonno, Ambassador of the Netherlands last night.
After that it was off to celebrate with our Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Tara Sawyer @TaraSawyer23, and Alberta's incredible farming and ranching community. Always a great way to spend a Stampede evening. Thanks to Federal Agriculture Minister Heath MacDonald @CornwallHeath for stopping in as well.
We headed over to the Business Council of Alberta for a quick stop, then continued our Stampede travels with Minister Dale Nally to sample some of True Wild Distilling’s Alberta made premium whisky.
We’re incredibly proud of the world class whisky being produced right here in our province, which is why we unveiled the brand new Alberta Whisky label that will appear on bottles moving forward.
We then joined our incredible ranchers and food producers at the Alberta Beef Summit with Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Tara Sawyer to celebrate the hardworking men and women who help feed Alberta and the world.
Across Alberta, distillers are turning local ingredients into something we can all be proud of.
The new Alberta Whisky logo helps tell that story by giving whisky drinkers a trusted way to identify the world-class quality and craftsmanship behind every bottle.
Cheers to the distillers, farmers and entrepreneurs that make Alberta Whisky truly remarkable! 🥃
Now that was a Stampede breakfast!
The pancakes were flipping, and the lineup just kept on coming at the 37th Annual Premier’s Stampede Breakfast.
Joining us this morning were Premier @PremierScottMoe, Premier @TonyWakehamNL, Premier @fordnation, Ambassador @petehoekstra, other members of the U.S. delegation, and our UCP MLAs.
Thank you to everyone who got up early, brought their Stampede spirit, and joined us for one of my favourite traditions of the year.
Eastern Canadian refineries should be powered by Western Canadian energy - not from overseas. 🇨🇦
Premier Doug Ford and I are advancing a new West-East pipeline called the Northern Shield Energy Corridor connecting Alberta oil to Ontario refineries, and eventually, European markets.
This nation building project would initially move 500,000 to 800,000 barrels per day, create tens of thousands of jobs, strengthen our economy, and help Canada receive full value for our world class resources.
Alberta has the energy Canada that the world needs. Now it’s time to build the infrastructure to deliver it.
It was great joining Minister Mickey Amery @mickeyamery and Minister Rajan Sawhney @RajanJSaw in northeast Calgary for the Redstone Community Association Stampede celebration. The food, dancing, and community spirit were absolutely amazing.
I also had the opportunity to spend time with the tremendous team at AARC, the Alberta Adolescent Recovery Centre. We cannot leave our youth behind, and I am so thankful for the work they do helping young Albertans overcome addiction and build a brighter future.
And a big thank you to the great folks at Medicine Hat College for inviting me out to their fantastic stampede party.
