@jenky14 @sheel_padres Terrible for who? Player was happy, team/ownership was happy, fans were happy. Fans who weigh in on players contracts are out of bounds.
@wwarriorsshow Boy, the salary cap in the NFL really keeps things level so that all teams can go to the Super Bowl… Oh wait… The Patriots are going for the 12th time in 60 years. If my math is right, that’s once every five years with four different groups.

@kendallbaker@rdana1979 They made “go all in “but not very many of them ever win. In the last 25 years, the same number of different teams (13) have won the World Series as the Super Bowl. And the same number of teams have never even got there (10). It’s not about the salary. It’s about the management.
@Pads1818 So have a $200 million payroll line Padres! If you have that payroll, your team is really good and your stadium starts filling up like Petco. Don’t spend any money, and your stadium starts emptying like Petco and 2010.
@Pads1818 Salary caps are an owners excuse for not spending money. It has nothing to do with a outcomes. Since 2000, 13 different teams have won the World Series and 13 different teams have won the Super Bowl. Which one has a salary cap and which one doesn’t? Can’t tell by winners….
@beamplacebo@khrisody@Tjm0821@JimRussellSD Complete lack of understanding. It’s all about owners desired to win. The Dodgers have had the ability to do this for the last 30 years but they didn’t until Mark Walter and his group came in. Why didn’t the Dodgers win every World Series since 1988?
@beamplacebo@hatinkershaw@Tjm0821@JimRussellSD The only reason they couldn’t sustain is because Peter‘s brothers don’t wanna spend the money. If Peter had lived, they would be right in the middle of this. It’s all about owners desired to win.
@DevineGospel All due respectNo Hosmer contract, no Manny, no anything that followed. I’ll never understand the hate about this guy. I guess if he bought a round of drinks downtown, he would’ve been loved because the guy who did buy drinks downtown had a contract that was just as bad.
