my traffic to free sites should go through the HAM (Hamburg) or TXL (Berlin) colo but it goes through EWR (New Jersey) according to /cdn-cgi/trace.

@Chinoman10_ @uwunetes Cloudflare on the free plan has horrible routing on German ISPs, so all traffic to my sites is routed through the US, which I dislike for myriad reasons.

Also I had to deal with Cloudflare's suboptimal DX at work enough last year, though I heard it's gotten better.

i’m running a k3s cluster on hetzner cloud for my apps but that’s because i personally like maintaining this stuff on my own time. i’d recommend something like coolify too if you want to self-host but want the Vercel DX.

@Chinoman10_ @uwunetes yeah, of course not, they don’t offer managed hosting like Vercel. but it’s enough for sites, which aren’t hypergrowing or have a full-time team behind them.
