Here is some CCTV footage of a relay theft in action, you will see the signal receiver and amplifier retrieving a signal from the key inside the home allowing the vehicle to think the key is present to unlock and start !
This is how quick and easy these car thieves can get away
@kellydk101 @perfectionvalet Absolutely, but most of the models that get stolen are popular models if they can’t retrieve a key signal they move on to the next one. All of the research and video evidence suggests they are not interested in breaking in, if they can’t receive a signal they will move on.
@Club_Zombie @perfectionvalet I think the biggest issue is it’s really easy to think “it won’t happen to me, I just have a normal car” it’s something we hear so often.
@DavidMonday27 @AutoPap Different in design they have no reason other than damage for the the fabric to wear or fail so are a much better long term in-home solution.
Hope that helps,
Kindest,

@DavidMonday27 @AutoPap Hi David,
The reason the pouches have a relatively short lifespan ( in the scheme of things) is due to the nature of the fabric and how It forms part of the fold/crease to create the seal, which of course weakens over time.
With the design of the boxes of course being….
We are seeing an increase in relay thefts where thieves boost the signal from an ignition key inside your house to steal the car parked nearby. If you have a keyless entry vehicle please consider extra security such as faraday bags for the keys (BOTH SETS) & steering locks etc.
