6/6 If you're a headteacher carrying everything alone because there's nowhere safe to put it down, let me help.
I've walked in your shoes. Sometimes you just need someone who gets it.

1/6 Where do you admit you're second-guessing decisions you used to make confidently?
Who do you tell when a parent complaint has been rattling around in your head for days?
How do you say 'I don't know' when everyone expects you to have the answers? π§΅
5/6 Fast forward to now: the challenges haven't changed. Difficult parents are still difficult. Budget pressures remain. Staffing issues haven't magically resolved.
But they're handling it differently. Making decisions faster. Sleeping better. Present when they're home.
10/10 If you're squirming a little, there's probably some truth here worth examining.

1/10 What no-one tells you about headteacher exhaustion:
You're not exhausted because you're so committed.
You're exhausted because you're scared to set boundaries.
I know this will ruffle feathers. But stick with me. π§΅
9/10 The question isn't whether you're committed. You wouldn't be reading this if you weren't.
The question is: what are you actually committed to?
Being seen as endlessly available? Or being effective over the long term?
You can't be both.
Being a headteacher is the best job in the world. But with so many stakeholders, it also comes with many interruptions.
Feel like you're firefighting rather than being strategic?
We need to talk.
