Americans brains would break if you told them Argentina had tens of thousands more communists than they did Nazis, that’s why they killed 30,000 of them. The U.S. doesn’t even have 30K communists to kill. Or that Argentina received 40X the amount of refugees during the Holocaust than they did Nazis post-Holocaust. That’s why Jewish communists were the largest ethnic minority targeted by Argentina’s U.S.-backed dictatorship. Argentina is a country that for centuries has been under siege, with militant resistance, by right-wing capitalist compradors seeking to exterminate its indigenous and black communities. It’s a horrifying history we should never forget nor stop fighting against, especially as Operation Condor has returned now. However, the reductionist overlooking of Argentina’s militant movements for class struggle— which in recent history have far outpaced the U.S. socialist movements— is ahistorical and an erasure of working-class people we should be in solidarity with. And it’s especially ironic when it comes from petite bourgeois arm chair socialists in the imperial core who can’t even organize ONE general strike, when their very own government is helping starve Argentina right now.

The % of people needed to "win" and the probability that that threshold is actually reached are not the same number.
