BREAKING NEWS: The #NkabindeInquiry recommended that the @NPA_Prosecutes should “discharge its constitutional mandate expeditiously” and charge General Johan Booysen and his #CatoManor police squad with racketeering “to ensure that justice is not only done but is seen to be done for the victims and/or their families.”
The inquiry report states that “there was evidence supporting the institution of racketeering
charges in terms of section 2(4) of the Prevention of Organised Crime
Act, 1998 (POCA), against Major General Booysen and members of the Cato Manor unit.”

A 42-year-old man allegedly attacked his estranged wife before attempting to set fire to her room, where her children were inside, and later died by suicide in Lwamondo, Limpopo. The incident occurred on Friday, 21 August 2026.

The woman survived the attack but sustained serious injuries. Her children were unharmed after neighbours managed to extinguish the fire before it could spread.

The man allegedly returned to the woman's room after believing that she had died from her injuries and attempted to set the room alight.
