I told one class not to read ahead bc it would ruin my lesson plans. The next day, they all gleefully reported that they had wrecked my lesson plans.
Little did they know, that WAS the lesson plan.
@IainBro@fordnation I prefer this approach in that you can teach it and make these connections. Yes making it explicit would be preferred but that would require acknowledging that curricula are always political and contested. Not a surprise, an opportunity...
@IainBro@JayWamsted And I tell the beginning teachers their job is to make sure they still like/enjoy learning and school and know how to learn - the specific content is variable.
@IainBro@howie_hua So minus the visualization...this is how I was taught it and we also had to reproduce it in under 3 minutes (just for fun though...I think there was a bet with the math teacher involved for a session off...where he taught us how to use chopsticks and other useful non-mathlessons)
