During the War of the Beast, a group of Iron Warriors literally help out the Fists' successors because while they despised the Imperium. They hated the xenos more and would rather see the Imperium win in the then-current conflict, so that the Traitors could defeat them at a later time.

@Kairostbsthji @ignatius_en I feel like some of the Chaos gods actually love xenophobia. Namely Khorne and Tzeentch. Khorne because its a source of endless bloodshed and war. And Tzeentch because it causes things like distrust and scheming.

I'd think "breeding pits" would imply its not so much the Astartes themselves. But their slaves/serfs being bred like livestock.

Kind of like how certain chapters (Space Sharks, Death Spectres, etc) will literally kidnap loyal Imperials, take them to "breeding worlds" and force them to make children for the chapter to induct.

Also, I hate to even bring it up. But considering the Daemonculabra was a thing. I'm sure the Chaos version of even a "normal" breeding program is absolutely nightmare fuel levels of horrific.

People tend to forget that Eldar literally got their name for humanity from a now-extinct race they deemed as "inferior" and genocided, then celebrated the fact and immortalized it in legend and myth.

And that its a term they use for all species they feel are inferior and "in need of extermination".
Which implies its happened a lot in the past, and only really slowed down because Slaanesh nommed 99% of their race.

In all likelihood, had the Eldar not gotten nerfed so hard. They'd be the ones genocidally trying to wipe out the Imperium and all other species in the galaxy. Instead of how in the current lore they're being written as the eternal victim.

Yeah. I love his books as stories, but sometimes the lore is janky. Even for smaller details.
Like using Gaunt's Ghosts as an example. One of the most egregious off the top of my head is Urdesh being a Forge World, yet raising Imperial Guard regiments rather than Skitarii.
Also the idea that during the Sabbat Crusade the Imperium would just recruit mass amounts of new regiments from worlds recently liberated from Chaos occupation. Pretty sure the Inquisition doesn't allow things to work that way.
I love the whole "Sharpe's in Space" vibe. But there's definitely some lore hiccups.

That's the thing that gets me more than "where's the ping?". The Galvanic rifle clearly has a drum or rotary type of magazine. The en-bloc clip/M1 Garand mechanics is kinda redundant.
Also IMO its more the designers seeing a long gun and going "M1 Garand" when it's always visually reminded me more of a SMLE (with that front end). Not that it believes like either weapon in-universe.
