But I’ve noticed that it’s changed the way that I express myself and that I’m a little quieter, more thoughtful and more careful about how I respond and when.
So shoutout to Jim! ✨✨
A thing which I have discovered by taking reading recommendations from my local bookstore attendant is stories for story sake.
Jim has me reading long books about the most simple things where authors simply grapple with the human condition — love, lust, friendship, etc.
It’s so different from reading for the plot which puts pressure on the story and introduces the need for a journey and plot twists and entertainment.
Jim has me reading books that you close and think ‘oh’. It’s a real shift from what I’m used to and sometimes it’s hard,
It was true in 2021 and it is true today. When he’s chasing you, he’s wide awake like Katy Perry in that song. Then you agree, and suddenly he wants to get the full 8 hours of sleep.
Learning things in the gym can be so random because I’d always thought depth was essential for a full hip thrust and I really risked my lower back with that.
I don’t remember ever experiencing DOMS as bad as what I felt this weekend and I’m so grateful to be feeling better now. Massive shoutout to me for moving anyway, my hot water bottle for sticking by me, and to yoga being what it is.
