Goodbye everyone @khskent. I have had the most amazing eight years and will miss you all. Thank you for the most wonderful assembly, leaving gifts and thank you cards. I will miss you all.
Thank you to @MarylaIngham from @hmsprotector who came to visit @khskent today. We were amazed at all the exciting different roles in the @RoyalNavy and the important environmental work of the Ship.
Thank you to Luxe Cakes and Artisan Bakes for an amazing @comicrelief raffle cake to raise money for comic relief. The cake has raised £350 #comicrelief#RedNoseDay
Congratulations to our member school @khskent on such fantastic @ofstednews feedback, and well done to all staff for your consistent approach to teaching the Little Wandle programme.
We will learn exciting things when we meet @MarylaIngham from @hmsprotector. The ship has just done 12,000nm in Antarctica & found underwater volcanoes with their sonar, carried out conservation work & scientific data collection on birds & climate as well as mapping the sea bed.
Year 6 in particular will have lots of questions for @MarylaIngham about @hmsprotector. They have been inspired by the story of Ernest Shackleton and his bravery and courage. They will be fascinated to learn about the significance of @hmsprotector in today's world.
We are really looking forward to meeting @MarylaIngham in a few weeks time. She is coming to tell us about her role as the first female Captain of the Royal Navy on @hmsprotector. So excited to hear about the ship's journey through Antarctica. #InternationalWomensDay
Reception have been practising using watercolours and a paintbrush. They have carefully been painting the witch from Room on the Broom and have even had a go at mixing some colours!
Last week Y1 were busy exploring colour with paint! They mixed secondary colours before adding white to colours to create tints and black to colours to create a shade.
Year 5 looked closely at the colour wheel and different relationships between colour. The children mixed paint to make tertiary colours and then explored complementary colours and harmonious colours using oil pastels.
Our girls team represented South Africa in the SCT Girl's Mini World Cup this week. The girls really enjoyed the day and are now even more excited for the upcoming Womens World Cup this coming summer.
