@educator4ever36 I think it’s great! I just retired last year and sent a postcard to my incoming students the week before Meet Your Teacher every year. It has nothing to do with a savior complex. It’s a choice. Some of us love what we do, and shouldn’t be put down for wanting to go the extra mile

Parents - for the teachers’ sake, please make your child (no matter their age) read a minimum of 30 minutes a day during the summer from a book. An actual book, not a screen. Even better, read along side them. Most libraries have incentive programs too! I dare you to give me one excuse why you cannot do this, except maybe your child is at camp for a week, etc.
