I’m gonna leave this here...

I'm sorry we never got a chance to meet, but getting this note from Dolly really had a an impact on me. She definitely didn't have to take the time to do it. Even for a kid who mostly listened to rap music, she was an icon. A superstar in every sense. Rest easy Dolly. And thank you for the kind words.

@AGrumpyScotsman I can hear the dial-up sound and my parents yelling “Get off the internet! I’m expecting a phone call!”. Kids have it easy now.

I think non gamers underestimate how many people use gaming as their way to decompress after work, stress, burnout or just life.

For a lot of adults:
gaming IS self care.

The older I get, the more I value games that respect my time.

I don’t need endless content, I need a good experience that can be had in short play sessions.

Metal Slug street art.

[ThatGrumpyScotsman @AGrumpyScotsman]

I don’t need every new game to be a masterpiece. Sometimes a solid 7/10 that respects my time is enough. Not every meal needs to be Michelin star ya know?

[Abyss_Watcher_Kiba @KibaAbyss]

@AGrumpyScotsman My condolences for the loss.

[Dexerto @Dexerto]

Ron Perlman says he got paid “$40 and a sandwich” for narrating the original Fallout game

“I did a couple of lines, got my $40 and my sandwich and went home”

[Abyss_Watcher_Kiba @KibaAbyss]

@AGrumpyScotsman Amen to that

[ThatGrumpyScotsman @AGrumpyScotsman]

The older I get, the more I value the pause button, both in Video Games AND in real life.

[Designated Kitty @Designatedkitty]

They should make a doom movie thats done like hardcore Henry.

[GamewithDave @1GamewithDave1]

Let's be real here. Some games are timeless but others, well...

It looks like my worrying in July was for nothing. Not all the signatures have been counted yet for the ECI, but for the ones that have, the validity rate is about 97%. I think this means a hearing before the EU Commission is all but guaranteed.
