Peter Schmeichel in Jan 2026: "It’s a wrong decision to sack Amorim at this point.. If Wilcox feels that he was insulted in that meeting, then it’s not his ego that determines or decides who the manager is."
Wilcox has to be sacked alongside Carrick.
🚨🎙️🔥 Ruben Amorim before Udinese: “The players are NOT boys. They are MEN.”
“What happened in Bournemouth had nothing to do with tactics. They were simply more COMPETITIVE.”
“Sometimes we need to forget about playing nice football and just be MORE competitive.”
“Maignan understood straight away that he CANNOT do what he did in Bournemouth. We cannot put ourselves in that position.”
“I spoke with him — but I also spoke with EVERYONE.”
Manchester United should have signed Harry Kane for £100m as Ten Hag wanted, but they opted for Højlund for £72m.
They refused to pay £85m for João Neves or sign Rice as Ten Hag wanted again, because he was supposedly too expensive, only to spend £52m on Ugarte. The list goes on.
Bayern haven’t replaced Kane, and PSG haven’t replaced Neves in three years. Meanwhile, United have spent around £140m on strikers after adding Sesko for £70m, and we STILL need another striker.
Now Carrick wanted Mateus Fernandes, Elliot Anderson and/or Lewis Hall, yet we’re back to the same old story.
Managers will always make mistakes, but INEOS and this board remain Manchester United’s biggest and ONLY problem.

“They [Manchester United] are continuing the TOXIC culture; they fuel it, they give the POWER to the players.” #MUFC [@lauriewhitwell]
🚨🗣️ 𝗡𝗘𝗪: Erik ten Hag has BLASTED Manchester United’s “TOXIC CULTURE” and accused the club’s leadership of giving TOO MUCH POWER TO THE PLAYERS!
“They are continuing the TOXIC CULTURE. They fuel it, they give the power to the players.
Rashford is an AMAZING PLAYER, if his mindset is right.
I always showed my trust in him, played him. But when you set these standards, sometimes you have to make corrections.”
Ten Hag believes Manchester United’s hierarchy FAILED to support him over disciplinary decisions involving players such as Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho.
“They promised me LOYALTY, they promised me BACKING, they promised COMMUNICATION, that we would be aligned.
We spoke about the issues.
BUT THE PROMISES, THEY DIDN’T KEEP.”
🚨 Erik ten Hag reveals to @TheAthleticFC: “In Ibiza, we agreed. I said: NO selling Scott McTominay”.
“Scott has United in all his veins: I said clearly: no exit”.
“And in the end… they sold him. I was very embarassed and disappointed”.

🚨🗣️ Erik ten Hag on his contract renewal at United after winning the 2024 FA Cup: “I wouldn’t go on with only one year left.
“So I said, ‘I need an extra year and we have to do it together’. They promised me loyalty, they promised me backing, they promised communication, that we get aligned. We spoke about the issues.
“But the promises, they didn’t keep.”

🚨🗣️ Erik ten Hag on his sacking: “I think it was quite weird to separate ways in that moment.
“All the data was showing we are good. OK, two poor games to Liverpool and Spurs (both 3-0 home defeats). We were starting the process. Let it progress; the gameplay is getting better.
“Maybe they can say differently, but I see on the pitch, and every game they fought.
“Also, my last game, that was probably one of our best games, we should have won against West Ham. But I’m sure the process was already ongoing; there were already people — maybe even in the team — who knew what would happen the day after.”

🚨🗣️ Erik ten Hag on Sir Jim Ratcliffe: “After the first meeting (at Carrington), he started talking about the structure in the football club, how the manager should be head coach.
“I said, ‘OK, let’s discuss, but my contract is different’. I never heard anything.
“Then every press conference (at United), they ask me if the structure should be changed. I always want to cooperate in a club — you can’t do this on your own. You need to find a strategy about philosophy, game model, about team profile, individual profiles.
“That is what I was used to, but with them there was no communication.”
