When Dr Melaku said “novel techniques” rather than resorting to GMOs, he was mainly meaning that we can improve productivity by leveraging the existing rich biodiversity, by minimizing post-harvest loss,by using mechanized agriculture,by working with farmers, etc.

I thank Solomon for bringing this up.There is 1 problem w/ z show which is zat both of his guests r one sided. Yet, z guests r not well informed to be even a good proponent. @Tseday@metishewyilma
But only 1thing wc Dr Girma mentioned about post-harvesting loss. He is right, yield loss during & after harvesting is a big deal. Z problem is zat he suggested GMO seeds for this inefficiency. How on earth can one crop scientist recommend GMO seeds for agricultural wastefulness?
