Despite all the drama, lawfare, spiritual warfare, actual warfare (as in assassination attempts) contained within this historic/Orwellian election cycle, and the cosmic stakes we're playing for, I am content and at peace regardless of the outcome.

Here's why.

The Christian worldview strives for clarity in all things. Nothing is more clarifying than the central claim of Christianity itself -- did the one, true God of the universe supernaturally intervene in human history to raise His dead Son back to life or not? If so, proceed to the rest of Christianity's claims. If not, cease and desist considering any of the rest of Christianity's claims. It doesn't get anymore clarifying than that.

The demonic realm, on the other hand, strives for confusion. What's a woman? What's a border? What's a person? What's a marriage? What's a law? What is truth? Did God really say?

This is the most clarifying election I have ever voted in since I could legally vote in 1992.

One side is literally running on enticing women to let themselves be used by men who don't care about them, and then letting the man walk away from the baby he created and celebrating the woman murdering it, as its primary election message it has bombarded the airwaves with. And that's when it is not openly advocating for gender mutilating the children we permit to be born, soul-murdering those same children with drag queen story time hour, having men invade female safe spaces, straight up Marxist economy policy, and perpetuating an open border for drug cartels and human traffickers to inject mountains more poison into our land. It has even run ads depicting masturbating boys threatened with having their porn taken away, and openly encouraging wives to subvert the votes of their own husbands.

Quite literally, everything is out in the open now. A completely dark, twisted, nihilistic, and demonic platform is no longer camouflaged but flaunted.

The contrast between the two visions for the country could not be more stark and irreconcilable. And while Trump probably doesn't even know what the Westminster Confession of Faith is let alone embody it in his candidacy, in his own way he and his coalition of various factions are at least striving for what used to be known as sanity. Is that enough to ultimately beat back the darkness? No. But in this election and given the state of our post-Christian culture, mere sanity is probably the best starting point for the pushback we can muster.

Which explains why Trump astoundingly has expanded and broadened his appeal on his unprecedented third run at this thing. As more and more people recognize what is happening to us is insane, even if they still can't agree yet on what to do instead.

See, it's not just that Trump likely doesn't know what the Westminster Confession of Faith is, but neither does most of America. Worse yet, neither does most of the American Church.

And that explains why a Samson/Jehu/Trump was needed to confront the Philistines/Jezebel/Democrats. These are not the times of onward Christian soldier, but the times of "in those days everyone did what was wise in their own eyes." Nevertheless, the battle of good vs. evil, or at least sane vs. insane, must go on. Whether the priests of God have done their jobs or not.

And go on today it shall.

This is more than an election. It is a reckoning. Everyone now knows where everyone stands and what they are truly voting for. So either way, we will have clarity. Whichever verdict is rendered will require hard conversations thereafter. Some harder than others. And while I sincerely pray Trump wins (and I believe he will), I am at-peace and contented now if he does not.

Because whichever verdict we receive, the truth will be fully known. Clarity will come. And Christianity does its best work when things are clarified, either way.

Vote like its up to you. Pray like its up to Him.
