If you’re campaigning to end Net Zero in 2026, then you’re either utterly corrupt or utterly stupid.

No intelligent species having developed the technology to power itself with cleaner, safer and ultimately more sustainable energy, would voluntarily choose to keep poisoning the very environment it depends on.

The objective of every intelligent civilisation should be obvious: survive, prosper and maximise its long-term future.

Clean energy serves that goal. Fossil fuels don’t.

Fossiel fuels are dirtier, noisier, they damage human health, they pollute our air and water, they leave nations strategically dependent on finite resources and unstable regimes.

We only continue to use them, contrary to science, medicine, and our long-term economic interests, because of centuries of money, lobbying, greed and political corruption.

Climate scientists warned us decades ago where we were heading. Those warnings weren’t fantasy. They were projections based on evidence, and today all those warnings have become reality.

The greatest failure of humanity isn’t that we lacked the intelligence to move beyond fossil fuels. It’s that we allowed greed to overpower that intelligence.

They tell us they care about player welfare. Really? Then why are players playing more games than ever? Why are tournaments expanding? Why are injuries increasing? And now they want halftime interviews too? The hypocrisy is unbelievable.

Halftime is sacred. It belongs to the players and the coaches. That’s where games are won. That’s where tactics change. That’s where injuries get treated. That’s where leaders speak. It is not a media circus.

And don’t tell me this is for the fans. Fans want better football, not a tired player giving a robotic 20-second answer because somebody sold another broadcast package.

Vinícius understood that. He chose football over public relations.

The funniest part? They threaten him with a fine. A fine. As if that changes the principle. If I were there, I’d pay it too. Because some things are worth more than money.

If FIFA really had their way, they’d put microphones in the dressing room and call it innovation.

Football should come first. Not content. Not commercials. Not corporate greed.

For once, a player pushed back. And that’s exactly why so many people are angry.”

How fans can be charged this much & more for a friendly is scandalous.

A game that’s over a 400 mile round trip, midweek & a tea time KO.

Regardless of who has had a say on the prices of the tickets. They simply don’t care about the fans.

RMT secures three-year no strings pay deal on London Underground

@RMTunion has won a three-year pay deal on the tube following strike action and sustained negotiations with the employer.

The union also managed to secure commitments addressing work-life balance among staff, including "fatigue friendly" rosters, further discussions on staff travel, and a consistent Boxing Day payment of £400.

The deal will keep pace with the Retail Price Index of inflation, protecting the value of RMT members’ wages over the next three years.

RMT General Secretary Eddie Dempsey said: “This deal is a clear demonstration of the effectiveness of strike action and strong negotiation by our members.

"It is significant that RMT has secured a long-term RPI deal that departs from the recent industry approach of linking pay to flawed productivity discussions and measures of inflation that do not include housing costs.

"More widely, RMT members will expect to see a similar approach in other parts of the transport industry.

"I want to congratulate our members for this achievement, and we look forward to working with the employer in moving forward on fatigue and staff travel provision."

I have seen suggestions that the Friedkin deal requires settlement of the 777 et al v Leadenhall case in SDNY. That is not the case. The deal had to be structured to satisfy the US insurance supervisors & the court; both parties are satisfied with the Friedkin/A-Cap agreement
