Josh Berry shares on a Ford Racing call that he will not return to Wood Brothers Racing in 2027. Said he's less than 24 hours from finding out he won't be back.
"What I didn't want to do was sit here and feed a line to you guys and then have it get announced in 30 minutes. I feel like that'd make me look pretty ignorant, so I wasn't gonna do that."
When asked if the decision surprised him or caught him off guard, Josh admitted not really and he didn't feel great about his chances of returning considering the way his team has struggled this season. "If we had ran better, we probably wouldn't be having this conversation. But we didn't."
Says he's "open and optimistic" about any opportunities that may be out there for next season. Still feels like he's the same driver that won Las Vegas last year and he has representation from KHI going for him.
