Several people were injured and property vandalized after violence broke out between supporters of Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika and goons linked to Kuresoi North MP Alfred Mutai during a Youth and Women Empowerment Programme in Nyota Ward, Kuresoi North, on Friday.
The confrontation escalated at Tulwet School after rival groups engaged in running battles, with reports of gunshots, stone throwing and the burning of a welfare bus belonging to Ngata residents, forcing the event to be abruptly halted.
MP Alfred Mutai is now being accused of opening fire during the chaos, with claims that several people sustained critical injuries in the shooting.
Ivory Coast’s Elye Wahi has been denied entry into Canada!
Yesterday the Athletic reported that Wahi was arrested on May 29 in France on suspicion of fixing offences less than two weeks before the World Cup.
Sources confirmed he was subject of an active investigation, which is seeking to establish whether Wahi, while playing for his club side Nice, deliberately earned a yellow card against Metz on May 17.
He was able to travel to the US and played against Ecuador but the Ivorian federation has confirmed he’ll remain there. Ivory Coast are due to face Germany in Toronto on Saturday before returning to the US to face Curaçao in Philadelphia.
“Indeed, the necessary administrative authorizations for his entry into Canadian territory could not be obtained at this stage.
Elye Wahi will therefore remain in the United States pending the team's return”, said Ivory Coast on Thursday.
Ivory Coast football federation also said it had “not been officially notified of any judicial or administrative proceedings involving him.”
Canada this week denied entry to Ghana’s Thomas Partey for reasons related to rape charges against him in the UK, which he strongly denies.
🚨 BREAKING: RB Leipzig turn down €100m proposal received from Liverpool for Yan Diomandé.
RB Leipzig want more than €100m as still try to keep him — understand €120m could be the way… for now, based on WC performances too.
Leipzig expect PSG and more clubs to join the race.
€90m plus €10m from Liverpool not enough, as @philipphinze24 reported.
