After 10 years, I unfortunately have to announce that the idol bot project will be shutting down.
Recently, X changed their API billing model to pay-per-usage pricing while simultaneously removing the free usage tier.
@vini64MM@mikimiki_bot3@yayoicchi_bot2@makorin_bot2@ohimechin_bot2 Hi, my DMs are open now. API usage pricing can be found here: https://t.co/eSJyi4X4R6
Post: Create is $0.015 USD per request, so for a 30 day period, the costs would be as follows:
Every hour: 0.015*24*30=$10.80
Every 2 hours: 0.015*12*30=$5.40
Every 3 hours: 0.015*8*30=$3.60

@aetherios_ Hi, thanks for the offer. Are you aware that API usage costs money now? It would cost about $11 USD per month for a single bot to make 24 write operations per day.

I’d like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed screenshots/videos/API keys over the years.
Until the credits run out, please continue to enjoy the idol bot project.

Since this project has always been a passion project that I’ve operated without monetization, I can’t justify personally covering the ongoing API costs required to keep the service running.
@vini64MM@ricchan_bot3@yayoicchi_bot2@yukipyon_bot3@azusasan_bot I've submitted appeals and am waiting for a response from X Support. Unfortunately, the last time something like this happened, I didn't get the accounts back. I will see how they respond (if at all), but I wouldn't get your hopes up.
X API has once again reduced the request limit on the "POST /2/tweets" endpoint for free users. At 17 requests per 24 hours it won't be possible for an account to post once an hour on the Free tier.
Apologies to everyone who enjoyed the idol bots over these past few years, but due to stricter limitations for the free usage of the Twitter API, it will not be possible to continue operating all 12 bots as before.
@skellygore__ I'm exploring a 2 hour interval between posts with @makorin_bot2. I'll consider re-enabling the other bots as well if enough people want me to, but I would have to once again ask other developers to provide me API keys.
