I can confirm public speculation that Ambassador Abukar Dahir Osman, Permanent Representative of Somalia to the UN and President of the Security Council, is in fact associated with Progressive Health Care Services, a home health agency in Cincinnati.

HHS has previously taken action against Progressive in response to a conviction for Medicaid fraud.

The President of #Somalia acknowledged earlier that Somalia committed heinous crimes in #Somaliland in the 1980s. Last night, his representative to the UN denied the atrocities, contrary to the well-documented crimes his own president has accepted of their existence.

I announced today the official recognition of the Republic of Somaliland as an independent and sovereign state.

Together with Foreign Minister Sa'ar and the President of the Republic of Somaliland, we signed a joint and mutual declaration.

This declaration is in the spirit of the Abraham Accords, signed at the initiative of President Trump.
