At Cabo de Gata Nature Reserve last week I saw their equivalent of The Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland, and its other half across the Irish Sea, Fingal’s Cave off Scotland.
They are interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic fissure eruption.
