@ToughSf Because at M=2.05 the losses from lowering the speed of airflow to subsonic speeds would be too high, and increases in subsonic airflow and the L/D as consequence would be mitigated by the increases in shock wave forming and wave drag.
@ToughSf It should be noted that a subsonic LE is obtained through a loss of energy of airflow by creating shockwaves (wave drag). At M=2.05 it is better to keep the wave drag lower through reducing the amount of shockwaves created by the aircraft.
