I've been a customer at the same local bank for 15 years. I took my first small loan there to start my business. I paid it back early. I took a mortgage there. I never missed a day. I even referred my friends and family, helping that bank grow into what it is today. I thought we had a relationship. I thought my history meant security. Yesterday, I walked in to ask for a line of credit to expand. While I was waiting, a guy walked in off the street. He'd never stepped foot in the town before.
