I’m heartbroken by what happened to Charlie Kirk and equally disgusted by those already trying to turn it into a gun control narrative.

Charlie was proudly and unapologetically pro Second Amendment.
He believed in protecting freedom, not blaming the tools.
He would’ve said it himself. This was never about the gun.
It was about the coward who couldn’t handle a difference of opinion, so he chose violence instead.

This wasn’t justice. It was weakness.

May you rest in peace, Charlie.

Six #Olympic medals later, and I’d be breaking the law for bringing one shell home to #California from the Olympic Trials out of state.

But if you’re from out of state with a truckload of ammo? No problem… Perfectly legal to drive it into CA across state lines.

That’s the law I just beat in court. California gun control logic at its finest.

And let’s be clear… The court didn’t rule against safety. It ruled the law was unconstitutional.

So @CAgovernor Newsom … explain how any of that makes us safer.

I took this photo from our living room window on the first night of the Eaton Fire. While we were fortunate to never face mandatory evacuation, we did reach Stage 2, and watching the fire move across the mountains was both surreal and deeply humbling. Just blocks away, the devastation is unimaginable. So many of our friends, including one of my best friend’s parents, have lost everything.

It’s hard to put into words the mix of emotions—gratefulness for our safety, heartbreak for those who have lost so much, and awe at the strength of our community. In the face of such overwhelming loss, it’s been inspiring to see neighbors, first responders, and strangers stepping up to support one another.
