We ALL saw it. We ALL heard their menacing threats against Israelis. Now a District Court judge rules the recording “inadmissible” because it was captured “illegally”?

Ahmed Rashad Nadir and Sarah Abu Lebdeh allegedly threatened Israeli patients while working at Bankstown Hospital and the video that exposed it gets tossed? Judge Michael McHugh even called their words “highly disturbing to right minded people” but still booted the key evidence.

Why are these nurses being protected?

This reeks of two tier justice.

The prosecution case is collapsing. Trial in August.

Will it even happen now?

Australia deserves better than this.

How embarrassing for SA. For a G20 nation blessed with vast reserves of gas, coal, uranium and renewable resources, South Australia should not be flirting with power shortages or extreme price volatility like we are.

When the wind drops, gas generation has to carry the system, interstate imports become critical and wholesale prices can spike dramatically. That’s not a sign of energy abundance, it’s a sign of a system that lacks any resilience.

Australians are certainly entitled to ask why a resource-rich state is paying some of the highest electricity prices in the developed world while facing ongoing concerns about reliability. That speaks to decades of political decisions that have prioritised ideology over engineering and affordability. Energy policy needs to deliver two things above all, they are: reliable and affordable power. If it can’t consistently achieve that then it’s time to reassess the approach.
